"You know you don't look like a man who'd be interested in first editions."
It's always great when things get started with a whirlwind - and reaching a fifth of our goal in one weekend is awesome. Thank you! Your support is a vote of confidence in Maurice, Jerry, and myself, and we appreciate that so much.
If you've been involved in one of Alliteration Ink's crowdfunded projects before, you know that doing things ethically and transparently is a really big deal for me. That's great for you as backers - you know what you're getting, and you know that it's going to be good.
It also means that you're going to be informed of all developments - both good and... not-so-good.
The initial press release (and elsewhere) announced that Chuck Wendig would be part of this project. Unfortunately, Mr. Wendig will not be appearing in Streets of Shadows. It's my mistake: His name was supposed to be on the "interested but probably can't" list. I accidentally cut-and-pasted him onto the "interested and participating" list. Chuck was very gracious about it, and there's no hard feelings there - it's simply a schedule conflict. And while you might not have even noticed the error - it was fixed within 18 hours - it's important to me that I not promise you anything I can't deliver.
Whew. Okay, so that's the not-so-good news out of the way.
The good news? That we now have an artist attached for that line art stretch goal: Steven C. Gilberts. Steven's artwork has appeared in a number of places, including the frontispiece of Dark Faith and as the cover for What Fates Impose.
Our goals - and stretch goals - are all about giving more to you and giving more to the artists and authors working on this project. And all you have to do now is to help spread the word - just point people at http://bit.ly/kickshadows on Twitter, G+, Facebook, and all your other social media networks.
