Alliteration Ink and the editorial team that brought you Dark Faith present
You think you're safe. What a joke.
You don't think about the places you pass every day. The side streets. The alleys. Under bridges. The shadows.
All you'd have to do is take a step to the side. Then you'd know.
Life on the streets ain't easy. It takes someone tough like me to survive. Danger lurks in the shadows. Yeah, there's muggers and gangs. Sometimes you get zombies, vampires, and ghouls. And if you're real unlucky, you run into the scary stuff.
Whether it's the dirty streets of Detroit, the paved-over cobblestones of London, or the patched asphalt of your hometown, people like me are all that stand between death and your door.
Our world isn't made up of parks and malls. Our world is the streets, covered in shadows.
These are our stories.
From editors Maurice Broaddus and Jerry Gordon comes Streets of Shadows, a collection of urban fantasy crime noir stories that push the boundaries of both genres. These tales of the dark - and magical - side of the urban landscape will be published by Alliteration Ink in late summer 2014.
Attached Authors
Currently attached authors include Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Kevin J. Anderson, Tim Lebbon, Seanan McGuire, Brandon Massey, Tom Piccirilli, and Lucy A. Snyder. Additional authors have been invited to contribute to the anthology; updated lists will appear in the backer updates.
There will be an open submission period after the Kickstarter ends, so you can have a chance to contribute a story to Streets of Shadows.

Our Goals
Once we hit this fundraising goal, the project will be able to go ahead and pay all the creative folks for their work. All authors will get at least the current SFWA professional rate.
When we reach this fundraising goal, your funding will help ensure that all authors in the anthology will get the new SFWA professional rate.
Once we reach this funding goal, we can afford to pay for interior line art for all backers to get in their copies of the anthology.
With this funding goal, all backers win! More stories will be included in the anthology, so you'll get even more for your pledge!
Where is the money going?
Our initial goal is enough to pay everyone involved - the authors, the editors, and the cover artist - a professional rate. Here's how the funding percentage for our initial goal breaks down:

Guidelines
We will be accepting open submissions for this anthology only after the funding period has ended. Limited slots will be available. Details will be forthcoming once the project has funded.
Please note Alliteration Ink's crowdfunding ethics policy before deciding to submit. Your submission will be regarded as agreement to comply with Alliteration Ink's policies.
Risks and challenges
In all projects that involve contributions from multiple people and companies, there's the possibility of an unexpected delay here or there. We already have the cover art, and our attached author list is made of industry professionals who have a proven track record of delivering amazing stories on time.
However, real life can intervene, and we are determined to bring you the best possible book. We will keep you, the backers, updated as more authors are confirmed and their stories included, or should something tragic occur that keeps a listed author from appearing in the anthology.
