Through the Eyes of Spurgeon
“This child will one day preach the gospel, and he will preach it to great multitudes...”
Did Richard Knill have any idea how God would bring these words to life when he spoke them over a young Charles Haddon Spurgeon?
During his lifetime, Spurgeon did indeed preach to great multitudes. He faithfully made known the great truths of the gospel to millions of men and women in his ministry—and he continues to do so today, more than a century after his death.
Spurgeon has much to teach us through his great successes—and also through the hardships of his life. No stranger to physical illness and crushing depression, Spurgeon’s handling of great suffering has been an encouragement to many. Pastor John Piper once said during a difficult time in his own ministry, “I have turned to Charles Spurgeon in these days, and I have been helped.”
This is the legacy I want to share with you in Through the Eyes of Spurgeon.
Together with a cinematographer, we’re telling the story of how one man’s faithful ministry continues to bless believers around the world to this very day—a story of lives changed by the gospel and a legacy of faith that all of us involved in this film want to see emulated in the lives of every Christian.
Will you help support the making of this film? I believe Spurgeon's life and legacy continues down to today and that it has much to say to Christians in our day, just as it did in his own.
I had no idea of the impact Spurgeon would have on me from the moment I opened opened his classic, "All of Grace". Not long after, I purchased dozens of other Spurgeon books and started reading hundreds of his sermons, only to find myself continuously challenged and encouraged.
With so much timeless material that others could benefit from, I launched www.chspurgeonquotes.com to share the words from the Prince of Preachers with a new generation. The site resonated with others and began receiving attention from around the globe. Next was a book project containing thousands of Spurgeon quotes: Through the Eyes of C.H. Spurgeon: Quotes from a Reformed Baptist Preacher, which was released in November of 2012.
Now I want to take you on a visual journey through the life and ministry of Charles Haddon Spurgeon. I have spent hundreds of hours researching locations, gathering phone numbers and arranging appointments to deliver to you never before seen footage and material documenting the life of Spurgeon. Will you join me in making, Through the Eyes of Spurgeon?
What are people saying?
"Few Christian leaders have had as profound an effect on my life and ministry as Charles Spurgeon. I'm thankful my friend Stephen McCaskell wants to share his life and legacy. I hope you'll support this documentary and help make this film a reality."

"I don't know of anyone who would be more qualified to produce a documentary on Spurgeon than Stephen. He is so obviously passionate about the Prince of Preachers - it has been a lifelong interest to him. That kind of dedication and energy SHOULD be put towards a documentary."
Matthew Pennings, filmmaker - www.redrubberstudio.com
"C. H. Spurgeon has influenced my personal life and ministry more than any other figure in Church history. Stephen is a hard worker, as evidenced by his Through the Eyes of Spurgeon book. Our paths crossed some time ago because of our mutual interest in C. H. Spurgeon and we have been friends ever since. I am confident that Stephen's zeal and energy would produce a quality documentary that would serve the church for years to come."

Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge we will run into will be the weather, however we will be prepared for that. After all, Spurgeon would have seen a lot of rain in his day as well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
