The Glowtie has a slot in the back that lets it slide onto the top button of any dress shirt. With two high-performance drone batteries on-board, you'll get a solid 8 hours of glow time off a single charge. The Glowtie comes with a removable fabric cover and a micro USB cable for recharging.
I've made dozens of units, spent months prototyping, and tested out the Glowtie at two weddings with an amazing response!

I started designing the Glowtie for my grandpa after I made him a 3D printed bowtie like these:
His reaction was priceless. After seeing what a kick he got out of it, I decided to take it a step further and make one that lights up! Thus began weeks of prototyping and iterating.
After months of work, I had a beautiful, bright bowtie that really stands out. Needless to say, my grandpa was beyond ecstatic about his new gizmo!

In college I raised over $15,000 for a project where I developed a prosthetic hand that reacts to muscle movements.
After school I worked at Deeplocal, an incredible place where I flew all over the world building and supporting machines for Google, Spotify, Lyft, among many others.
With all that I've learned about engineering, design, user experience, and logistics, I'm ready to share the Glowtie with the world!
Risks and challenges
Manufacturing a new product always comes with risk. We've already started researching suppliers and manufacturers to create backup plans and safeguards that reduce risk.
The first risk we're addressing is component sourcing. The bill of materials for the Glowtie is long, and the process of procuring all of the necessary ingredients will be a large task. We are currently defining the main distribution channels for each component of the Glowtie. We're also creating a list of plan B distributors in case our main channels run into any issues.
The second risk is manufacturing. We are preparing to manufacture the Glowtie at quantity, from a barely funded project up to millions of units. Currently, we are in communication with several manufacturing facilities capable of injection molding all the necessary plastic pieces, fabricating and populating the circuit board, assembling the fabric cover, and packaging the final product.
