Denver's Stephanie Dorman releases her first E.P. These are the songs. Join the journey!
This EP and even the thought of producing the songs that have been forming and evolving has been a long time coming. In fact, I almost feel as though my whole being has been brewing, thinking, meditating, dreaming of a time when I could finally have an outlet to show these ideas some light. Thanks to some perfect timing, I have arrived at a place where I now have a realistic way to put breath into the framework that has been cultivated up to this point . I also have the opportunity to work with some amazing musicians and artists to make this record. The result is my very first E.P
The break down of cost is as follows.
$1200 for production
$600 for musicians
$700/balance to pay miscellaneous cost. Video, art work, website development, printing of c.d's.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
As an independent artist without a label financially backing me, it's hard at times to balance the details that make up the big picture. I can commit my time to writing, recording, booking and touring but to do everything on my own while working full time and taking care of life responsibilities is a huge hurdle to jump over. I'm lucky to have a good support community but the reality is the record may take longer to finish, unexpectecd delays with scheduling may come up or the money may not come in which will push everything involving this project back entirely. Regardless of all of this i'm prepared to face these risks and make that sacrifice and to jump in with both feet. That's why I have decided to partner my project with Kickstarter. Their campaign encourages independent artists to take that risk who don't have the funds and allows the community to back them without that heavy label influence. I have always wanted to be an independent artist, and this approach makes most sense to credit the start of my career as a musician. Ok here i go!
