Q: What does a scientist look like?
A: Trick question! A scientist looks like *everyone.*
All about the cards: STEM Trading Cards feature diverse and prominent "STEMists" or "STEM STARS" doing amazing, innovative STEM work. Just like with baseball or Pokemon cards, you can create a collection and swap cards with friends! STEM Trading Cards are a fun way to educate yourself or your kids at home or in a classroom. STEM Trading Cards are designed to ensure ALL students see themselves in STEM.
STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. You can see all our STEM STARS at STEMTradingCards.org.
We use the cards in our STEM programming for K-5 students to help inspire, inform, and make the STEM STARS come to life.
Brief Interlude for:
Here we post our "Break Kickstarter" mystery STEMist clues and reveals! Confused? Scroll ALL the way down to learn more.
We are fully funded!!! Thank you everyone for supporting this campaign. We are excited to reveal our latest STEMist and first Mathematician, Dr. Chawne Kimber. Dr. Kimber not only a professor and researcher of mathematics, but is a renowned quilter too!
Next Clue: Reveal on Wednesday! This Everyday Superhero is an Environmental Attorney who does legal work for Honor the Earth. She is also an activist. Who is she?
Role models you can count on: Our STEM STARS support education, diversity, inclusion, and environmental conservation. Many of us in STEM fields had disappointments when we learned that our role models were different than how we imagined. We are providing STEM role models that kids and adults can look up to in *every* way.
Who are the cards for? Everyone!
Our cards were developed with a K-5 audience in mind, because that's who Science Delivered teaches! But STEM Trading Cards are great for middle and even high school students and they're *definitely* perfect for adults who love STEM.
Children age 5-10 are wired to do science and are driven by intense curiosity. Science is a subject tailor-made for this age group. But across the US, many elementary students are denied virtually any hands-on science education, due to a focus on test scores in reading and math.
Science Delivered supports elementary students by providing unique, hands-on science labs directly to underserved K-5 classrooms. When you back this campaign, you are not only getting an awesome, mission-aligned product, but you are also supporting critical education efforts. Learn more about our work here.
See all our STEM STARS and learn more about them at STEMTradingCards.org. This site is a free resource allowing everyone to explore the career and life paths of the STEMists featured on the cards. Over time we aim to add lessons for K-5 teachers.
Make-your-own template and sticker images coming soon!
Everyone should know about our STEM STARS and we think STEM Trading Cards are the way to do it! Science Delivered gives STEM Trading Cards to our K-5 students and they are a hit! The cards resonate with older students and adults as well. With your help, students and adults across the US (and beyond) can learn about our STEM STARS and the incredible work they are doing.
- We've been printing the cards "loose" and sorting and randomizing them by hand to pass out in classroom, but as we add more STEMists this procedure is becoming a bit time-consuming. We need your help to properly randomize and package the cards!
- Finally, would you like to see even *more* STEM STARS featured? We definitely would! And we have a long list of amazing people that would be perfect to showcase. Backing this campaign will help us promote more fantastic STEM STARS!
Thank you for reading about STEM Trading Cards! Please get in touch with any questions. Learn more about the cards and Science Delivered here and here.

Risks and challenges
Our largest challenge as a small nonprofit is capacity, however we have a long track record of completing projects and carefully laid the groundwork for this campaign! We have printed cards in bulk before for sponsorships so are confident that we can move forward smoothly. Order fulfillment is the newest thing we will learn about but as a science education nonprofit we love to learn!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
