MatteForge has arrived!

Posted by Steelmans (Creator)

Your support on our Kickstarter campaign has given us the opportunity to develop new 3D printing related products so we thought you should be the first to know about our latest and most exciting product, MatteForge.

MatteForge is a new filament that produces a beautiful matte, low gloss finish. We decided to launch our third 3D printing campaign having always wanted a filament with a matte finish for our own prints. We were tired of the usual glossy finish associated with almost all PLA based materials. Full details are on the MatteForge campaign page but here's a quick summary...

MatteForge reduces the visibility of printed layer lines and gives a professional appearance to prints. This is achieved whilst enhancing the contrast between light and shadow to highlight fine details. This highly desirable effect makes MatteForge perfect for industrial and product design, and technical engineering models.

MatteForge also has very good mechanical properties such as high impact resistance and good flexural strength. It is very easy to print, so is great for both beginners and printing professionals. As it is PLA based it does not warp and has amazing layer adhesion and more importantly MatteForge has no odour.

lol, I was literally just repairing a broken print with my MODIFI3D when the notification about your new project came in. Unfortunately I'm definetly in no need of additional filament. I didn't even use the LokBuild yet. I have installed it on my printbed and everything, but couldn't find the time yet to print on it. But still I wish you all the best for your new campaign
