Horizon Zero Dawn™: The Frozen Wilds Expansion

Hi Seekers!

Firstly, let’s start with how blown away we are by your enthusiasm! The pledge total is soaring up and we’re already seeing an awesome community for the game. Sincere thanks from all of us at SFG for your support! Remember, let’s all work to keep growing the project – the more people we have on board, the more stretch goals and bonus content you will get added to your pledge for free!

Today we’re going to be taking a closer look at the Frozen Wilds expansion, and what comes in the box. Designed to represent the Banuk tribe and the frozen wilderness of the Cut, this expansion is full of thematic nods to this much beloved aspect of the game. We know from the comments section you’re all curious what you can expect, so let’s get started!

Firstly, let’s talk about the machines. The Frostclaw and Scorcher are two new configurations you’re probably familiar with from the videogame DLC. Created by HEPHAESTUS, these fearsome adversaries are some of the most dangerous foes which you’ll meet on the trail. This expansion includes two of each model, as well as all the rules you’ll need to play with them, such as their profile and behaviour cards.

But that’s not all. You can also find the rules for upgrading other machines in this expansion, turning them into Daemonic machines!

Of course, as you’ve probably guessed, these new enemy types will all need new tracking cards in order to appear, and that’s exactly what we’re going to talk about next. Included in this expansion are two new sets of tracking cards, allowing players to expand their gameplay experience with new quarries and foes. We want you to really feel like you’re stalking through the Frozen Wilds with this expansion!

In addition to the machines, the Frozen Wilds expansion also includes two new Banuk models, both accompanied by their own unique equipment, traits, decks, upgrade trees, and playstyle. Just like the Forge and Hammer expansion, players can use either of these models to replace hunters from the core game, providing a wealth of new content for them to experience.

These aren’t the only new cards either. To represent the unique equipment found in the frosty north, this expansion also adds several new cards to the merchant deck. Using these, your hunters will be able to unleash devastating attacks and significantly improve their odds of survival as they track their fearsome prey.

Finally, this expansion will include six new tiles, representing the snowy peaks and tundra found in the Frozen Wilds. We know tiles are one of the most requested items, and we don’t want to disappoint!

Let us know in the comments what you think Daemonic machines might mean for the game…

Well we spend 40£ or more on a dinner when eating out ... So if we cook the next few weekends the addons are basically free! ... Math =Magic!

How long roughly will the pledge manager be open? like normal people in the u.k i get paid on the 26th or there about each month

    5. Cameron Usman on

Getting expensive. I added 40 pounds to the existing early bird 95 pound pledge. I hope this will include everything that is part of original Kickstarter scope including all the pledge goal rewards along with whatever will be part of Frozen Wilds Expansion.

@Malik Lyberth There will indeed be a Pledge Manager for HZD, just like DS and RE2.

Went all in with 2 core sets. I wish I could afford 2 sets of expansion.

    15. Malik Lyberth on

Okay so is there not gonna be a post campaign manager like for Dark Souls TBG? Because dropping almost 300£ right away is not viable for most people

    16. Michael Giele on

Does that change the 278 pounds pledge total for everything?
