is the story of a mother who loses her son in an accident on the
family's ranch. After going through a depression, a neighbor
man introduces the mother and her daughter to spirit boards, claiming
they'll be able to talk with the dead boy. A relative
introduces the daughter to the biblical truth about the state of the
dead, which aggravates the demon that's pretending to be her
brother. Encounter after frightening encounter, the film
climaxes with the Great Controversy between Jesus and Satan played
out in physical form. Will the daughter, Natalie come to the
full realization of truth and be able to save her family, or will the
powers of evil triumph once again?

been making films since I was able to draw flipbooks. When I
was ten, my parents gave me my first camcorder. When I was 22,
I shot my first feature film, a slasher flick called “Wulf”.
Now 27, I'm preparing to shoot my fourth feature film this summer,
Derek. Shortly after finishing Wulf, God grabbed hold of my
life and charged me with making films for Him. I said I didn't
want to do you're typical Christian films and God has graciously
allowed me to make films about controversial subject matter. At
STARS Pictures, our mission is to get people to read their Bibles and
learn the Truth for themselves, rather than just going along with the
rest of the Christian crowd.
we were shooting Leap: Rise of the Beast, my producer and lead actor
Alex gave me a challenge one night. He told me move away from
the action films for a bit and try a character piece. I was
intrigued with the idea and we started brainstorming, eventually
deciding I should go back to my horror roots and do a ghost story.
How does a controversial christian filmmaker do a ghost story?
By taking the stand that the ghost is actually a demon. We
decided to take it a step further and have this film address the
modern spiritualism movement and society's caviler attitude toward
spirit boards., thinking it's just a game.
final piece of the puzzle fell into place when I heard a woman's
testimony at church one weekend. Her mother was into spirit
boards and the occult, eventually leading to the mother's possession
by a demon and this lady, as a young girl, had to exercise her mother
when she was just a new Christian. I went home after and within
a matter of hours I had written the storyline for what would become
script is completed, actors and locations are being secured and we
are in go mode for shooting Derek this August in Eureka Montana,
against the backdrop of the breathtaking Rocky Mountains. And
now we need your help. Although I've successfully completed
feature films for insanely low budgets, to hire the talent needed for
this production to be what it needs to be, will require some
funding. We need $18,000 dollars to pay for actors, our small
crew and the music composer. An additional 3000 dollars is
required for meals, bringing our minimum total to $21,000 dollars.
On top of that, we need a few funds to pay for the awesome perks
we'll give you for helping us out. See, most filmmakers on here
only try to raise the budget they need, then scramble to come up with
funds to cover your perks. We're adding that into our campaign
brining our total to $25,000 dollars. Using our state of the art
equipment and low budget filmmaking techniques we've developed over
the previous three films, this amount will allow us to bring Derek to
life as a polished, thought provoking production. I ask that
you prayerfully consider donating to Derek and help us bring this
message to the world. You can follow the progress of the
production at facebook.com/derekmovie

Thank you, and God Bless. :)
