Some Animations the Tame The Natives

Yes, we know you grow tired of waiting and we don't blame you. We want the game out as badly as you do - but we must trudge on. We must make it as good as possible (within reason). So, when is the first version coming out for mobile devices?

This isn't a formal announcement as some things can change, but we're done developing a month from today. We reserve the right to adjust this if we feel like extra time could really improve something OR we have something catastrophic happen, like some major unexpected bugs or something of that nature.

With all that said we are very close, and if we stay on target we will be on the iTunes and Android stores for your playing pleasure in the middle of October. Thats taking into account the approval process of the respective stores. To be clear, this is the tentative date, but it looks very solid.

So what does that mean to you, our PC and Mac supporters? Well shortly after that release we will open up the beta for the PC version, bugs blemeshes and all. We get our mod tools going and start blowing out the additional content for the desktop version while also taking into account everything we are learning from the mobile release.

When we say things have been going well, we aren't kidding. The new team members have really pumped some life into our team from development, to animation to just ideas and time management. Its been really great. Here are some tangibles. This represents a small portion of what has been done since our kickstarter closed, but should give you a taste of whats to come. This is some more work from Carl Douglas, our new animator who has really floored us both in his ability to jump right into our assets and exceed expectations on delivery and just breathing life into our designs. And that is all thanks to you, our supporters. We will speak for Carl and ourselves when we say: thanks.

We are getting close and we really think you will agree that the hard work and waiting was worth it.

      Looking fantastic guys!

Can't wait for it! One question though? Will we be getting the instructional videos and digital books before or after release of the game?

    6. Michael Matzat on August 28, 2012

Thomas, there will be steamworks mod suport if everything works out fine.

    7. Raberg on August 28, 2012

Take your time guys! It's worth it, im sure!

    8. Thomas Austin on August 28, 2012

Really sad I missed the first kickstarter! This is looking so cool how much bigger is the pc version going to be than mobile and will you guy have modding support in game or it completely up to us to install the files and what not like in a certain mining game?

    9. Some Guy on August 27, 2012

Didn't know a gif could be so AWESOME!

    10. Lifeless Loser on August 27, 2012

It would be the coolest thing ever if whenever a unit walked over that pile of ash that use to be his teammate it actually made foot prints in it. Just I don't know that seems like a really cool little feature to me.

    11. Star Command 2-time creator on August 27, 2012

@Brian Saves will be cross platform. Certain things will change (aiming mini-games for example) and certain things will be enhanced.

Mods will be on PC but will not work across platform, and other features won't work as well.

A question: if the PC version is going to be the 'ultimate' version, with more features than initially come out on the iPhone/Android version, and saves will be transferable between PC/Phone versions, how will updates be handled if one owns both the phone and PC versions? (I'm sad for missing the initial kickstarter, missing on both the beta access for phone as well as the free updates)

But... How will I revive him if all I have left is ash?

    14. Jared Dobro on August 27, 2012

/How much will the mobile version of the game cost

    15. Star Command 2-time creator on August 27, 2012

Survey will be going out this week. We have a fulfillment house so we are making sure we have the format they need to make everything go smooth as butter.

    16. Star Command 2-time creator on August 27, 2012

@Clayton - no mods for mobile. It's not exactly an open environment. If we have some super popular PC mods we may figure out a way to bring those into a formal mobile update.

    17. Chris on August 27, 2012

Surveys will nag you on every page of Kickstarter. They have not gone out yet or you would know.

    18. Hulker69 on August 27, 2012

    22. Clayton Dorsey on August 27, 2012

Have you guys figured out how mods will work with game saves that go between mobile and PC/Mac?

    23. Q8GEEK on August 27, 2012

Can't... wait... my hands are... itching... ARGH!!

    24. Raufgar on August 27, 2012

    27. Akira Currier on August 26, 2012

You had mentioned on Twitter that the Beta would be out 'very very very soon'. Is the October release the Beta, or the 'final' mobile version?

    28. Lee Swain on August 26, 2012

Should the heading "Some Animations the Tame The Natives" instead be "Some Animations *to* Tame the Natives"?

It feels like I've been waiting for this game forever - almost there!
