An interactive, audience participation piece of theatre where knights battle with live sword play and don't kill the messenger!
: Stage & Steel Productions Community Theatre will open their 2012 season with a brand new production of “Don’t Kill the Messenger.” This is Stage & Steel’s third season, which will premiere on May 18th, 2012.
As in a true Stage & Steel Production, there are sword fights, challenges, and a tournament. Watch and become a part of the show as the players perform this new story. As a far off kingdom prepares for the Tournament of the Tell, a mysterious messenger arrives from a dangerous neighboring land. The son of the villain king delivers a strange request, in order to keep peace between the kingdoms, the King must kill the messenger.
Facing a difficult decision, the king must decide what to do. Not wanting to disturb the festival, the King allows the young visiting prince to enter the tournament, with the hopes of finding a solution before it is too late. Will the Prince win his life? Will the Princess and Prince fall in love? How will the other knights fare in the tournament?
Each production encourages the audience to cheer or boo their favorite combatant as the players fight with actual steel swords and weapons. The audience also helps the players as they must make decisions that can affect the outcome of the production.
