"Treasured" Project News from August 17, 2014
In the past couple of weeks, Jeannie and I have picked up the pace working towards our goal of capturing as many diverse types of hands and items for our ArtPrize exhibit. We work off a full spreadsheet – keep in track of all our interviews and locations, along with contact info to assist should Jeannie have another question or two for our subjects.
So far we’ve lined up such items as special family heirlooms, original blueprints to a beautiful bed and breakfast, lovely Christmas ornaments, an antique rolling pin, clocks, a unique key chain, stuffed toys – and event a wallet left behind from a young man tragically killed in an auto accident.
We’ve also photographed medications, sailors working the lines, a potter throwing on a wheel, memorials, jewelry and more.
The stories we are uncovering behind these simple objects leave us now with a true sense of honor. We so appreciate the chances we’ve had to share and connect with each of you. Thank you.
