What if…
What if you didn’t have to die? What if there was a cure for mortality? No aging, no death, only life everlasting… What would that mean? That simple, yet complex, question is the central theme of our third, and most ambitious anthology project yet – The Cure.
Who are we?
We are Square City Comics – a group of independent artists and writers who meet regularly to discuss our projects, ideas, problems, and more regarding the craft and industry of comics. Since 2010, members have self-published more than 15 books combined, including two SCC anthology projects, as well as shared table space at SPX multiple times, and participated in several 24 Hour Comic parties.
Why Kickstarter?
The Cure is our largest anthology project, both in terms of page count and the number of creators involved. The book will be approximately 90 pages long in black and white printing. We’d also like this volume to reach a greater audience, which means printing more copies, and in turn means more money to cover these printing expenses. Potentially we'd also like to pay the creators involved for their work.

Micro Stretch Goals!
$2,500 - Aric Campling wrote and drew a goofy little mini-comic, and he has agreed to print some and include them with all physical pledge levels! Of course we have to hit $2,500 first! (teaser of the first four panels, of the total eight, included)

$3,000 - But wait! There's more! Emily Gillis has authored some extraordinary 24-hour comics - Cranky Cthulu, A Day In The Life of My Cats, & All You Held Dear - and as chance would have it she recently completed another! Now is your chance to get a digital copy before anyone else, but only if we reach this goal! Oh, and did I mention? This applies to all backers, not just physical levels. So tell a friend, tell a relative, and let's make this happen!
Also, if you're wondering what it's about - A girl's hex goes wrong and backfires, turning her into her brother's shadow. Now the two must work together to undo the magic, even if it means asking their powerful eldest sister for help! - so yeah, hilarity surely ensues!

Risks and challenges
Most of the stories are already finished and ready for printing. All that's left is to send the project off to the printer and then ship the books. Since all of the rewards are being produced through US manufactures the risk of shipping delays on that front is also reduced. Finally, we've already successfully produced two anthologies, and between the participating creators many other self-published comics.
