About this project
Vernus 2442 is a unique Indy game in development by my son
and myself. The game is a modern take on
the classic top-down 2D shooter style of game play, which combines a 2D top-down Space Shooter with
RPG (Role-Playing Game) elements, and will be driven by powerful ever changing
backing story. The games story and RPG
elements will add new level immersion to the game play not seen in the
traditional 2D top-down shooter genre. It will be the first game of a planned

NOTE: The 48hr Concept game is a prototype that we made over a weekend when we were first thinking of the idea for the game. It in no way reflects what the Vernus Trilogy games will be like. We have linked this simple prototype to simply show where our ideas for the game started at.
Why Kickstarter?? My son is finishing up his last year of programming and game design at school. He wants to work as an indy developer.. So we got together and came up with the idea for Vernus and to go ahead with the project straight away. We need get his various licenses for the number of tools we will be using to make the series upgraded to commercial status. So we decided Kickstarter was are option to get things off the ground properly and timely.
Risks and challenges
The biggest obstacle we face right now is converting all of my sons licenses for the various software we will be using to develop the game from student to commercial licensing. As well we know there will be inevitable bugs/issues during the development of the game, but we have allowed extra time in our development time line to cover for these types of delays. We will also be updating all backers on the progress of development and any delays that may occur.
