UPDATE: INSERTING AND REMOVING IPAD FROM CRUXENCORE!

Crux™ filed its first patent an incredible 14 hours after the announcement of the iPad®. Since then Crux™ has been awarded 6 utility patents & 2 design patents. We are the only company that can bring this type of product to you.
The aluminum parts of the CruxENCORE™ are stamped and machined from aircraft grade aluminum in the exact same process that Apple® machines its Macbooks® and iPads®. The Aluminum parts are then beadblasted and anodized to give them the same finish as theiPad®.
We plan to have our first production samples coming off of the production line in the middle of April. Once all of the samples and components check out we'll begin full production in late April. The various parts will be manufactured and assembled in China. In fact, we already have built molds for and are currently manufacturing the various thermoplastic hardware parts for the CruxENCORE™. We already have the: keyboard, buttons, rubber feet and pads, PCBA, and other small screws and hardware parts ready to go. In order to manufacture the CruxENCORE™ we must first machine and stamp the 3 major parts out of solid pieces of aluminum. That aluminum is then beadblasted and anodized to give it a finish that is just like the iPad®. Those 3 parts will then be sent to another factory to be assembled along with the various components like the PCBA, keyboard, battery, hinge, and foam padding, then packaged to be shipped. We plan to have the CruxENCORE™ shipping by the end of May.
We're able to manufacture the CruxENCORE™ in multiple color combinations. Check out the stretch goals below to see what colors we'll be able produce at the various funding levels. If we're able to achieve our stretch goals, we'll be able to produce the CruxENCORE™ in 8 different gorgeous color combinations.
We'll be able to include an aluminum stylus if we meet certain stretch goals. This stylus is bead-blasted and anodized to match the finish of the CruxENCORE™. In addition, we'll be able to include a sleeve if we meet certain stretch goals. This sleeve is made of a beautiful combination of both wool and leather. It also features a reverse zipper giving it a very clean look. There are 3 different color combinations to choose from. At Crux™ we have a track record of delivering products that exceed expectations. The overall design and quality of our last kickstarted project should give backers confidence that we will exceed expectations on the CruxENCORE™.
The CruxENCORE™ potentially faces the followings risks and obstacles:
1) Delays: Since the CruxENCORE™ relies on a complex and long supply chain for it's various parts. There is the potential that one of these suppliers are delayed in their various components to the lead factory for final assembly. This could create a delay in shipping the product. We at Crux™ feel like this is a problem that we know how to manage since we've been manufacturing product in China for over 3 years.
2) Component compatibility problems: Since there are a lot of different components that make up the end product. There is the potential for there to be compatibility problems. The problems could include new components that have never been tested for durability and longevity. We at Crux™ plan on only using parts and components that have been tried and tested and that have a high level of quality and longevity. Also, we'll make sure that we carefully pick and choose only the best suppliers to work with.
3) Quality: Quality is always a concern when manufacturing products in China. We plan on managing this by personally checking each and every CruxENCORE™ before it is shipping. So in essence we are doing a 100% QC check on the final product. In addition, we will check each component and sub assemblies before they are passed for final production. Again, we have been managing quality on our products coming from China for over 3 years.
