Here's the idea I came up for my card, feel free to use this as you wish:

Ability: Play this card immediately. Place in any opponent's score pile. They may immediately pay 6 coins to return it to your score pile.

      Cost: 3 coins

      Score: - 4

Thank you for getting me started at least, I really appreciate the help!

There's some suggestions earlier in this comment thread of ideas, of effects that come into play when the card is revealed in the level, or if the card would go into the player's hand after purchase instead of the score pile. Perhaps it will become a weapon you could use on the next enemy. Or it could become a negative value to another player's score pile if purchased.

For me, I have two custom cards, and I plan to have maybe one of them enter your hand instead of your score pile, then you using it to, say, get rid of an enemy (if not midboss or boss) instantly.

I think what you can do for now is to submit the photos for the artwork, then work out the details of the card later. I was also hung up on the abilities as well, but might as well have them do all the artwork first, then they can assist with the ability ideas later. At least, that's what I did.

As to getting a response, I haven't got one yet since I emailed them the details. But I'm sure they're pretty busy. A response email would be nice, though. ;)

@Brandan you'll get an email to confirm everything in a few days. We're pushing through and completing all of the art now. Thanks!

I didn't receive any kind of acknowledgement on my picture/eMail submission. Should we be looking to get anything or will we just get our card preview once done?

    11. Dude Wellen on July 20, 2012

I just sent mine in, asked if it could be my cat (any card type). :) Hope that doesn't put extra work on you!

    12. Ralph Rondeau on July 19, 2012

How long do we have to summit the custom card? Are their ideas? Please email me back with the answers

@Adam as soon as we finish the current ones, I am going to ask if we can post them online. As for the type, we need to make everyone a character card, but you can give yourself enemy type abilities, like... "this card is also an enemy with 5 power. You can defeat it, or purchase it."

Is there a place we can view the submitted custom card designs? This may inspire others to come up with something unique for themselves.

Also, can I be an enemy? It looks like those cards have all the same things as character cards except they're in red and say "enemy" at the top.

Yes. Please give in-game related abilities examples, broken by categories if possible (Healing abilities, VP, etc...) Thank you.

@Willie the characters in their current form provide a mission. Do X and you will receive Y points. They don't naturally go into your hand. You will buy them and place them into your score pile, and hopefully complete their mission before the game ends. You can totally change that though... as its your card. You can list on the card "This goes to your hand" and give it abilities each time you draw it. "Reveal this card from your hand to _______". You can have it trigger an effect once it shows up in the level. You can give it global effects to help or hurt all players. It can trigger the end of the game or a rock paper scissors match. We're seeing some really creative uses so far, do if you have any basic ideas, send then over by email and we'll chat about it and make it work.

    17. Willie Hung on July 17, 2012

Question regarding abilities: can you give an example of an interesting ability? The last thing I'd want to do is grossly break the game because I didn't know the limits an ability could become. And while I'm a silly man myself, I'd rather do an ability related to the game than "Gives you +100 happiness." The custom card will already give me that boost. ;)

@Chris as soon as your card is done, we'll send it over by email to confirm we got everything right. Then it's off to print!

Will we get a preview of the pixel art?

A dress is perfectly fine. Shorts too. Just let us know what you want in the email and we'll make it happen. :)

    21. Breanna Magallones on July 16, 2012

Do I have to be wearing pants? Because the only forward facing photos I have are of me wearing a dress.

      1. Cost - you are correct. This is the amount of coins required to buy this card.
      2. The standard character has a question mark because the amount of points at the end of the game varies. If you complete the mission and collect the cards, you will receive 10 points as stated above. If not, it's zero. At the end of the game you are going to look at all of the bottom right corners, so the question mark is to call attention to the cards ability. In this case, it's not in addition to, but instead it replaced the points in the lower right corner.
      3. You can make up your own ability and remove the set collection altogether.
Thanks! Let me know if you need any more help!

    23. Willie Hung on July 16, 2012

A couple of questions. Still getting the hang of the rules, so if I'm misinterpreting anything, feel free to correct me.

      1. COST: I'm assuming NPC characters appear in the level, and are not drawn into your hand. So, this is purely cost, and can not be potentially used as currency to purchase items.

      2. ABILITY: The default text says it will give 10 points. Is this additional to the POINTS in the lower left corner?

      3. ABILITY: For adding your own, is it just more flavor text you can add, or we just make up our own ability that activates?

Thanks! And can't wait to make these custom cards!!

@Chris that should be fine. I assume it's no bigger than a baby, unless it's like one of my old massive cats. :)

    26. Chris Sessoms on July 16, 2012

Would a cat be alright? I wanted a picture of me holding my cat.
