The all new rotating camera mount. Switch the field of view by 180° with the click of a trigger.
The Spivo allows you to easily switch the field of view of your camera by pressing a trigger. Action sport cameras (GoPro, Sony, etc...) have such a wide field of view that pointing the camera forwards and backwards captures your full surrounding.
Secure your favourite lightweight camera to the universal tripod mount (1/4"-20 size) by using our exclusively designed thumbnut. Simply screw your camera onto the thread and tighten the thumbnut to lock it in place. From GoPro, Sony Action Cam, Garmin Virb, Ion, JVC, Polaroid, and so much more.
Custom designed ambidextrous thumb trigger for left and right hand usage. Our adjustable lanyard ensures you never miss a shot. Gloves? Mitts? No problem! The Spivo's ergonomic grip allows you to press the trigger without hyper-extending your wrist. The lanyard connects to the grip with a 1/4"-20 bolt which gives you the option to replace it with your own, or our custom shoulder strap.
S is compact and versatile enough to throw in your pocket. M is the perfect grab-and-go for all activities. L to capture those long cinematic shots while skiing, longboarding, or anything else that deserves a deep perspective. Why fixed sizes? Less moving parts means increased strength, better performance in extreme conditions, and more economical for you!
Long Boarding - Gatineau Park, Québec
Skiing - Edelweiss, Gatineau, Québec
Surfing - Cox Bay, Tofino, B
Cottage - Smith Falls, Ontario
Fixed camera mounts are no fun :(
Have you ever found yourself wanting to capture that perfect moment but been unable to do so? Action camera mounts often suffer from a lack of maneuverability and a single field of view. This limitation causes many once in a lifetime moments to be missed.
Not a pan and tilt.
Our goal is to produce a more interactive camera mount which allows you to capture your full surroundings. The Spivo started as an idea for shooting videos while skiing. The creators, Marc and Andre, wanted to be able to capture the footage taken from a selfie perspective, as well as what was coming up ahead of them, with one camera. With that premise in mind, they created the Spivo, a rotating camera mount which allowed you to switch the field of view by 180° with the click of a trigger.
Today's action sport cameras have a wide angle lens designed to capture a field of view of up to 130 degrees. That means that with the simple click of a trigger and a slight tilt in your wrist, you can now capture the full 360 degrees of action going on around you.
Since Spivo was designed with action sport enthusiasts in mind, we chose 180 degree instant rotation rather than a variable rotation controlled by a toggle (or "pan and tilt"). Pan and tilt mounts require significantly more user attention and control which would render them more difficult to use. All you have to do is decide whether you want to film yourself or what's in front of you.
Weatherproof: Waterproof? Snow-proof? Sun-proof? Absolutely, the Spivo has been carefully designed to function in all weather environments including underwater. From Alaska to Fiji, your Spivo will be by your side.
Patent Pending: Our innovative technology is currently patent pending internationally.
High Quality Materials: The Spivo is a fully mechanical device engineered to never let you down. Built in North America, the Spivo is constructed from only the highest quality polymers and metals.
Initially conceptualized as a university project, the Spivo Stick has been meticulously engineered with over two years of development. The proof of concept was originally machined out of aluminum and received unbelievable praise, but as is the case with most things, had its flaws. We realized to have an economically viable consumer product we would need to move to a polymer construction; so we did! Since then, countless prototypes have been produced with the help of our trusty 3D printer. 3D printing has given us the ability to further refine the ergonomics and aesthetics of the Spivo Stick to what we now offer today. With real-world testing and engineering analyses, we are extremely confident in our end result and we cannot wait until it reaches your hands in a few months.

After years of refinement the Spivo design is complete and we are ready to begin production. The funds from your pledge will go directly to purchase the costly steel moulds for injection moulding and help cover costs associated with our initial production run. These costly steel moulds will allow us to produce extremely high quality parts, with incredible dimensional accuracy. So far, we have funded this project from our own savings but now we need your help.
We expect to send out the first Spivo 3 to 4 months after achieving our Kickstarter goal.
We have partnered with a local manufacturer with over 30 years of experience in the injection moulding business. They have worked with Fortune 500 companies creating high-end plastic parts for consumer products as well as aerospace and industrial plastics. Their facilities are state-of-the-art and their experienced engineers have reviewed all of our CAD Files and drawings so that each part is optimized for injection moulding. They have assured us that they can deliver our moulds and our initial production run of parts within 2 months.
Product assembly will also be handled locally. Quality is paramount to Spivo, so we decided to keep assembly in-house ensuring only the highest degree of care is taken with each and every unit. We also believe in creating great jobs for people in our community and boosting our economy; this is reflected in our decision of staying local.
After our final round of qualification testing, we will ship the Spivo right to your doorstep so you can begin sharing your experiences with family, friends, and the rest of the world!
