      There will definitely be an update before the end of the year. Right now we're knee deep in design and tool programming stuff. As soon as we have something concrete we will share it for sure! Thanks for asking!

      Should I have gotten something to fill out for the "name a shopkeeper" reward already? Going over old messages I see a couple notes saying this was imminent, but nothing saying it was sent. Just wanting to make sure the spam filters didn't eat it...

      @Hasilló György: don't worry, when the game comes out, we will send out a survey, and only then will you finalize your desired platform, so you can choose PC if you want to.

      @Kebby: thanks for that feedback, really appreciate it!

      I guess you're right in everything you wrote, and we've already decided that after the video update we'll strive to do more frequent, smaller updates here as well. We originally thought that the smaller and more regular stuff was better suited to Twitter, Tumblr and co., but you're right; we can not turn a blind eye to the platform that enabled us in the first place.

      The reason why we are less outspoken than others is probably because I am the only one in the team who can communicate and do social media, and the majority of the game's content development is also done by me. That's why it is always a hard decision for me to do an update or not, because it takes away from valuable development time and furthers our release dates. This is a hard nut to crack, but we are determined to find a solution that keeps you in the loop and lets development flow as well.

      Again, we really appreciate the feedback, so keep 'em coming! �

      Guys, I haven't backed a ton of projects yet, but this is by far the least outspoken one ;-)

      Personally what I like is to get small updates, but on a more regular basis - and into my email inbox, so that I don't have to come check the comments section on Kickstarter.

      We're all friends here - you don't need to make this a huge burden for yourself to come up with a huge update. Just keep us in the loop a little and a more regular basis.

      Anything you share will keep us more connected to the project.

      Keep in mind that we all backed this because a) you & us obviously share a certain taste/culture and b) we are cool with supporting something that is yet to grow (and isn't an immediately finished/polished product).

      So I'm pretty sure we can handle and like to see unpolished things as well - as soon as you are ready to share them.

      @ Milan: the video you are describing sounds awesome! That would be a GREAT update - and not every update has to be that big, as long as they come more often. :-)

      but i'd prefer a list of things done, things to do
      and an alpha release date (or period)

      Hey all, sorry about the lack of "real" updates!

      It's just lots of things are in an almost-finished state at the moment as we move closer to the alpha release, and we'd really like to show you the final stuff and not the in-progress content. Since we're building a vertical slice, everything is more on the functional side and not very polished yet. And frankly we're a bit shy to show off temporary content, even if the functionality is there.

      But we do realize that you deserve an update, so how about I record a video of the current state of the game and talk you through where we stand with the development and what is expected in the future. It would be a backer-only update with an unlisted Youtube video. It would probably be more cost-effective for us to produce it vs. lots of text and anim gifs, and it may be even more in-depth for you.

      Would that count as a "real" update for you guys?

      Any "real" update coming soon? Last one was the "End of Summer"-Update last year, now you could already do an "End of Winter"- Update!

      Hey guys, everything's going fine! We are buckled down and working on the "vertical slice" of the game, which is supposed to contain every screen and major game mechanic, only with placeholder content. This will provide us with a testable game prototype that can be given out to people to get feedback on, and also gets us very close to the 'alpha' release.

      This will allow us to develop the game mechanics and the content in parallel, and everyone gets a fuller picture of what the game is about much sooner. Games with roguelike elements are quite hard 'to sell' in the development and alpha phase because a lot of the appeal lies in the long-term progression. Hopefully the vertical slice will help us in that regard.

      Most of the screens and mechanics are in an almost-presentable state and that's why we haven't done an update yet, but as soon as most of them get finished, we'll do a more extensive update for sure! Until then, thanks for your interest and keep in touch!

      This is the first project I back on Kickstarter, and it manages to reach its goal. I expect the game to be fabular, sorry, fabulous.

      K§H: Thanks a lot! I guess a lot of people lost faith in the mid-campaign when things slowed down considerably. Not us though! :)

      Regarding post-funding, we are already working on it, in fact you can already pre-order the base game on our website, and soon most KS pledges will also be available as well.

      @K§H: Agreed, I'd love to see the rest of the stretch goals finished! And considering the amount of love this campaign got in the last few days, I wouldn't be surprised to see them funded within a month at most.
