Quick Update

Dear Insane Children,

Just a quick note to let you all know that things are still alive and progress is being made on Alice: Otherlands.

Ed and Troy have been connected with sound/music producers so that their animations can move to the next phase - scoring and sound design. After that, they'll both get to work on post-production, final effects, etc. I would guess the scoring process will take until the end of November - at least. After that will come the post-production process.

On the feature film side of things, there have been some major developments, but nothing that I can report on publicly. It's the situation with the film rights that's prompted the great silence over the past couple of weeks - and I ask that everyone please understand how these sorts of negotiations demand discretion.

Several backers have written to ask if the DVD/art book might be delivered in time for Christmas of this year. Given that the animations are not yet complete and taking into consideration the production time for DVDs, shipping, I *do not* think these things will be ready and/or shipped in time for Christmas. Safer to assume early 2015.

I will post a full update with info about the situation with the film rights and other details about the animations as soon as I am able. In the meantime, I appreciate your patience and understanding.

Just wanted to say thanks so much for taking the time to give us all these updates. It always brightens my day a bit to hear that things are going well. :)

Thanks to everyone involved for all their hard work, and I'm confident that the final products will be well worth the wait.

      Looking forward to it all,

I'd love to upgrade my backing to include an art book. Would hate to miss out on one if it might be a limited run...

Thank you for the update, glad to hear that things are still up and running :)

Understandable that updates would be scarce considering the feature film side of things.

Thanks for checking in! I totally understand the need for discretion about not-yet-settled matters, of course, and am not expecting news about the film yet... but I'm confident it's going to be exciting news when it does become public!

For those of you who wanted to give the DVD for Christmas (unlike me... I'm keeping it all for myself, muahahaha!), I suggest printing out something from the KS page and slipping it into an envelope; sure, the actual disc might not arrive until next year, but there's at least something to be wrapped and given. Same thing happened with a couple of campaigns I backed last year, same solution.
