Project Indigo: Warzone ORIGINS - Launch Series and Game.
A High Fantasy, High Strategy, Hybrid Tabletop Competitive Collectible Card Game for The Driven Modern Age Competitor.
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Tue, May 28 2019 4:24 PM UTC +00:00.
Thank you for Checking this Project Out, I hope to see you all in the Theatre.
I have been developing this card game for nearly a decade, since I was 16. And truly even before then, though as a slighty different concept, with a much more chaotic arrangement. Since then, Project Indigo has undergone many forms and restructuring to get it to where it is today.
Project Indigo: Warzone is a Hybrid CCG and Wargame that attempts to replicate High Fantasy Combat, RPG like character building, and an RTS style systems, in order to bring a card game that is unprecedented in its scope. Competitors will need to utilize a much deeper chain of engagement and strategy in order to defeat a competent opponent.
Made with Competition in mind FIRST, Project Indigo: Warzone should prove to be a good fit for any player used to High Strategy style engagements.
Example of Variants (Above)
Currently there are 8 "Adepts" available, each differ severely in how the play; from concepts of Resource Attrition and Army management, to fighting that Army with only the Adept and skills in hand. There is not deck minimum, thus you could theoretically play with 1 single card in your deck, if you feel you had the technical aptitude to manage that strategy.
Alongside this physical game is a Video Game of the same design. This is not a "proof of concept," the game is in full development, will be playable by Summer, and will have the rest of the current game cards scripted within the year. To be released Mid March, both physical and digital. Signed Copies of the game will be provided to those who select that option as a Backer.
Backers will receive a voucher for a FULL UNLOCK of the game once released. It will be free-to-play with the single purchase option to unlock all cards rather than playing through.
High Quality and Durable Cards. No Warping or heavy discoloration after a year of use.
SENSE OF THE GAME
Project Indigo: Warzone is a combination of Wargame and Cardgame, more so than most that attempt to incorporate the two. The game is playable by any number of competitors in a single round (boute), and games are won through simple "Last Man Standing" rules. Each competitor starts with an "Adept" chosen from amongst there collection and is not included in the deck; however players are able to change Adepts during a boute.
The main source of play are from the use of your Adept's innate abilities and the possible Champions to support it. Both Adept's and Champions are referred to as Entities and Units depending on the card referencing them. When an Entity is played, a "Marker" is used to represent it on the battlefield or the "Theatre of War." Like in chess, your markers are moved individually based on the statistics and abilities, and when close, engaging in real-time combat using a standard battle flow. Alongside these innate functions you are also able to equip these entities with Armaments, Equipment, and skills that will of course, change the flow of battle significantly.
Directional positioning, range, and even elevation all become combat factors. Combatants dodge and defend by order not chance.
Moving an Entity, using abilities, attacking, defending etc. all require "energy" to either be had at a threshold, or used to function.
To win the game a competitor must be the only player with a living Adept. An Adept is killed if its Resolve is lowered to 0 or below. When an Adept is damaged, it loses resolve. When a Champion is killed, the Adept loses resolve equal to that Champion's health. There are also secondary ways to damage Resolve i.e. attacking a players "Supply Line," dealing the equivalent damage directly to the Adept without attacking it directly.
Players are not required to have any cards in a deck at all. There are no deck outs on secondary ways to win outside of Resolve. A player may start and end a game having only used their starting Adept and managed to maneuver their way into a win with no support.
Games are to be first to 5.
Thank you for taking a look.
Risks and challenges
As this is a solo project, if I were to die, it would not be able to be completed or distributed.
So 3 cheers for good health!
