July 16 Update: Is that a demo over there I see?

Wait no longer, we are releasing the demo to the public! You can download the demo by logging on to and clicking the rewards tab. Currently we are in the process of uploading the demo for download so please keep refreshing the page and eventually it will be there ;)

WARNING: Make sure you are very much aware that this is a work in progress. You wanted to be part of the development of the game. Well here you go, a developer build that features a small part of SpaceVenture itself.

But consider the following before playing:

  • The demo is still in beta stage(Developer Build) as we haven't got all the bugs worked out just yet.
  • You must be a registered backer at to download and play the demo
  • Currently the demo has no Voice Over. That is still in the works.
  • Not all the narrative dialogue is in the demo.
  • At the beginning, Ace talks with a ship administrator named Mervin, which you don't get to interact with in the demo(yet)
  • All death sequences have not been included yet.
  • Not every icon you see is usable yet as some of the icons are meant for the actual game and not the demo.
  • To Save/Load, don't use the icons, Hold Shift + S to Save or Shift + L to Load
  • ALL DEMO DISCUSSION(NOT KICKSTARTER) WILL TAKE PLACE AT SPACEQUEST.NET(The official Guys From Andromeda Forums) CLICK HERE TO GO THERE The best way to communicate with us and the developers is there!
  • Instructions for actually playing the demo can be found HERE

If you have problems logging on to, please email

Just started playing - I have FEEDBACK!
It would be awesome to cycle through the different action icons simply using the mousewheel. Cut out the menu-select-click part every time I want to try something new in a scene. Just sayin'

    2. Shawn Jones on July 18, 2013

I can't log in to download it. I sent an email 4 hours ago.

Game runs very buggy. I died (I think) and it locked up on me. Little more explanation on how to use the airlock would be nice.

    4. Chesterrush on July 17, 2013

      Something funny here, Scott?

    5. Ohverture on July 17, 2013

Ooooooh - what a lovely thing to wake up to.

    6. pcj on July 17, 2013

Brian, e-mail me at and I can reset it manually. Often when we get swarms of people trying to reset their password the mail server quits working for awhile.

    7. Brian Enigma on July 17, 2013

I have an account on svrewards, but I'm unable to recover my password after forgetting it. I keep getting "The e-mail could not be sent. Possible reason: your host may have disabled the mail() function..."

    8. pcj on July 17, 2013

Johnny, yes, please e-mail me at

    9. Johnny Perkins on July 17, 2013

I pledged at the $15 tier, am I eligible to try out the demo? I never received an email about creating an account for, and I'm not even sure if I should have based on my tier level...

    10. pcj on July 17, 2013

Nelson, try swiping at the knobs on the door.

    11. Nelson ☜☆☞Menacing Mop☜☆☞ Miguel on July 17, 2013

First of all... WOW!!! The graphics and feel on this baby :) Secondly, i'm using Mac and as soon as Ace does a close-up of the first door... I'm stuck... He can't get out, he can't do anything... Am i doing anything wrong?

    12. Jeremy on July 17, 2013

Playing it at 1920x1080 on the best graphics and the game really looks amazing. I was very impressed as soon as I started up the game.

    13. Tom Hammerheart on July 17, 2013

When in doubt, blame Troels. :3

Playing at 7680x1600 is a bit whack

    15. S.D. on July 17, 2013

      Oh MAN!! SO excited...
I've been warned not to read these comments, for spoilers, but I have to say... I'm really grateful that the team pushed to bring out the Linux demo also. I can't really express my appreciation enough... I suppose that's what the pledge was for :-P
Unfortunately (not that anyone cares)... I'm stuck in a full-week compulsory conference, so I can't even look until the evening. It's a bummer for sure :-)
      Anyway, thanks again, you guys!!!

For those of us who missed registering (doh!) what's the link to actually create an account rather than log in?

    18. pcj on July 17, 2013

Sorry about that - it appears that Unity doesn't implement the screen resolution dialog for Linux yet. Can you try using the -screen-width and -screen-height command line parameters as described on

      Thank you.

    23. Steven "Blackthorne" Alexander on July 17, 2013

    24. Two Guys From Andromeda Creator on July 17, 2013

Hi Justin, please post comments about demo issues in the forum mentioned in the update. Thanks!

    25. Justin Favero on July 17, 2013

tried the demo, had no idea what I was doing or supposed to do and managed to get perma stuck with the dog on one side of the steam pipes while a corpse lay on the other!

    26. Two Guys From Andromeda Creator on July 17, 2013

Mac version is shortly. Working on Linux after that.

Oops. You tried something we didn't think of.

    29. pcj on July 17, 2013

Any bugs in the demo are also Troels' fault.

    30. Pedasn on July 17, 2013

its a long wait for me, because i have to sit trough an entire workday before i can grab the demo.....
can't wait, and i will check out the Police Quest inspired KS

    31. Tobi (Crusader Kickstarter pls!!) on July 17, 2013

yeeeah, Ima let you guys play the demo and do bug-hunting, I'll sit back and relax and play the finished game, muaha :)

    32. Rambutaan on July 17, 2013

Nice and looking forward to the demo (assuming that's what beta access entitles?) - hopefully the plug to Precinct will help Mr Walls too :).

    33. Troels Pleimert - Space Quest Historian on July 17, 2013

Remember, if there's anything in there you don't think is funny, it's my fault. If you see something hilarious, that's Scott's fault. ;)

    34. Andrew Stickel on July 17, 2013

I grew up on Spacequest so I am SO excited for this!
