Yea, We'd absolutely love it if other webcomic creators got in on the act here. That would be hilarious. Consider this an open invitation from the Two Guys.

    2. Brandon Allen-Trick on

Yes. I < 3 Kris Straub. Actually, you should try to get Kris and Scott to do a Blam for you. If you can get him to somehow parley this comic into a front page link on PA, I think you'd be funded in a day. Perhaps an email campaign to Jerry for a PA bump?

Definitely want to see more of these. It would be cool if you could get other SF webcomic artists to help as well, like say Howard Tayler of Schlock mercenary.

    4. BluScreen_Jason on

I'd pay for a book of just TGA comics like this.

    5. S.D. on

Yes, more Kris Straub & Two Guys comics please!!

    6. Brendan Sydney Hughes on

I wonder how many webcomic writers have fond SQ memories -- maybe more can be encouraged to do this!

      Todd Phelps on

Great comic, I'd like to see more -- and I tripled my pledge. Very happy to support the guys behind games I enjoyed so much as a kid.

    8. Brendan Sydney Hughes on

This is great! Come payday, pledge will be increased!

    9. Kevin Macey on

Awesome... I'm also increasing my pledge :)

This game HAS to happen.... The SQ series is what got me into computers when I was 5-6 years old.

    10. Nicholas Gotshall on

Confirmed: Pop-Tarts are a universal constant.

      This is pretty funny actually.

    12. Mike Haley on

More of these comics, please! Collect them, print them, and package them for whichever reward tier feels right, or better yet, include them in the SpaceVenture manual... and by a SpaceVenture manual, I don't mean a 2 page fold that seems to pass for a manual these days.

    13. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

Opps, looked again, and it is a box video. Well, that explain why I had trouble with it. :)

    14. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

@Filip, nice work on his face. I also see we all had the same issue importing the original video which turned into a box. :)

      Here's my entry: http://youtu.be/L9D38nuH-u8
I thought we had to send it in private and that's what I did first!

    16. PrimeSpcts on

@Don - Yes! Quality and Quick just don't go together! Especially in this industry..

    17. Raiden on

That last frame definitely squeezed a chortle out of me. :)

    18. Brad Herbert on

Hahah.. now that is funny! Good job guys!

    19. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

@PrimeSpcts: Nice job on yours too. You know why the Two guys put us through this little exercise. The moral is it's really hard to get a quality product out that your fans expect from you and to do it really quickly. ;-)

Straub is the best. Awesome comic. Let's hope it kickstarts this Kickstarter.

Better late than never! Did as fast as I could while at work.

      Nice work Don!

    22. markcrowe on

Hey All! Please do spread this comic far and wide. It would be fun to see someone do a video read though and post it on You tube.

    23. markcrowe on

Thanks Don! Don't worry we'll take care of ya. ;)

    24. Belcaw on

      Hahaha.. Love the comic!

    25. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

Never mind, my comments are behind. Thanks a lot two guys! Just for flexing your rules, I'm flexing my wallet another $50. :)

    26. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

I'd love one, but @Bob Bissonnette posted before me. Or did we do some weird time travel. Trying to be honest, but would love the buckazoid. :)

    27. markcrowe on

HA,haaa DonC Wins a real Buckazoid! I'm conflicted though about seeing a rainbow flying out of my butt. Nice work Don! Anyone else taking up the challenge?

    28. Two Guys From Andromeda Creator on

@Bob - You're first, so you get a coin! Nice work! @Don - You made me really smile with the creativity! You're a winner too! :) Both of you message us privately and we'll work out details :)

    29. Bob B. on

      @Don C - Well played, I like all the SpaceVenture stuff. :)

    30. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

@Bob Bissonnette: Nice little game. :)

    31. Don C - SpaceVenture Evangelist on

DArn. I had to wait for mine to render. Made with all the love (and speed) of a prototype. :)

Sorry for the crappy upload quality though.

Love the comic, keep them coming!

    37. Jean-Marc Giffin on

In honour of his comic, I've just upped my pledge. I encourage others to do the same, if possible!

    38. Bob B. on

I've just realised I have no idea how to turn that GIF I made in to a YouTube video. Hrmmmm.

      MARK LANDIN on

While many of us hardcore fans know that any game you guys produce will be great and we are doing what we can to spread the word about this kickstarter to friends and family, anyone who maybe has never played an adventure game like Space Quest maybe won't know what you guys are capable of.
I agree with Joshua that having the two of you making a pitch video with your whacky humor which is better paced and more exciting will help to get new people excited.
It was great that the poeple who will be doing the voices helped with the video but you are the guys who will be making this happen and it would be great if you could do a video.
Unfortunatly I also agree about John Patrick Lowrie plugging his book did somewhat take away the reason we are all here. It is to support and back you guys because you gave us many happy memories growing up playing your games and this is our way of sayng thankyou and that we wanna ride again. I really don't want to buy a book (unless you guys ever write one).

Definitely think comics with updates would be an awesome idea! ;)

Maybe based on how the funding goes from here, you could have them hurdling toward a star and needing more power to pull up. Or if we exceed, you could show them on their way to an island resort planet of luxury. :p

    41. Ohverture on

Hey guys - did you outline the idea to Kris Straub or was it his idea?

    42. Jean-Marc Giffin on

First: this comic is very clever! You guys made your point without the usual "message to backers: give us more money" ploy. The wording is very creative too. Well done, I'll give it a share on the ol' social networks.

That being said, I would agree with Joshua Carmody, the pitch video left a lot to be desired. Just sitting there and talking about how you'd like to make a game isn't very interesting to today's ADD internet. If your pitch video were even half as funny and exciting as the comic you just made, you'd see more action, I think.

Perhaps it could be an animation in the style of the comic that used a similar approach to pitching the game?

    43. meowgod on
