Revolution 60 is independently funded, and fortunately, this Kickstarter only needs to bridge a small budget deficit in us extending development time by six months. The true cost of extending development time and developing this feature is closer to $40,000. That said, every penny helps us tremendously.
Personally, we are huge fans of open source platforms at Giant Spacekat. We'd LOVE to support these platforms. Unfortunately, a consequence of using the Unreal engine is we're at the mercy of Epic in terms of the platforms they chose to support. Currently, Unreal Engine 3 does not support either Linux or Android out of the box.
That said, I have been ASTONISHED by the number of Android people asking for a port. We looked into how feasible this would be, and we calculate it would cost between $100,000 and $175,000. The upside is, we would be left with tremendously valuable middleware that would help port other Unreal games to Android. We might see if we can make a separate Kickstarter for this task.
