Shipping today! 2/21/12

It's been a long time in coming, but the first shipment is going out today.  Woohoo

In the 2 months since my last update, I've been refining the process and I finally have it to a place where I'm happy with the output.  They really look good.

It's been a really wet couple of months for us in Austin, Tx (good), and that humidity causes problems with the dry powder coating paint that I'm using (bad), but I'm getting the hang of it.

Shipments will be going out today and tomorrow, and then every 2 weeks until they are in everybody's hands.

The last couple weeks, I have been transitioning out of prototype mode, and into production mode.  I've got the process and workflow done, now it's time to crank them out.

All the cutters in this batch were made entirely by me in the garage. Starting with the next batch, some friends will be volunteering some time to help me maximize the output.  I'll know more by the end of the next batch how long it will take to get everybody their cutters.

Thanks soo much for the support and the patience.  I bit off a lot when I decided to make them myself.  I've learned so much in this process, and the cutters get more refined with each one I make.

One of the benefits to making them myself is that I don't need to get a lot of money upfront to introduce new designs, and during the Christmas break I started playing around with a new cutter.

It's called the "Moon and Stars" design because it makes round and star shaped cookies, and it'll be the first design introduced when I launch the sales website.  I've got to work on it some more, but I've tabled it until I fulfill all the kickstarter orders.  It's not an original design. It's been around for a long time as an example of tessellation, but it's never been used as a cookie cutter and it'll be a great generic non-holiday design.  Let me know what you think about it.

Thanks again,

I have never heard a thing or received cutters. What a rip off

I remember last Christmas when my kids were waiting for these. And another year has gone by without so much as a sorry from Keith. Very disappointing.

Near the top of this page, there's links to Home, Updates, Backers, Comments. In the comments thread, people have posted his phone numbers and I've posted his other websites. At this point, I'd be happy with an update that at least accounted for the sum total of the moneys sent to him and spent and an apology for not contacting all of us with reports and why the hold-ups.

Never received a thing, He was a scammer!

I have been wondering what happened to him. Is there anyway to get in touch with Keith? Is he OK?
I have not even received any updates on what is going on with our orders!

Has anyone received their cookie cutters?
I completely forgot about these until my daughter asked the other day.
So where are the cookie cutters we were supposed to get?

Keith~ I have just read the FAQ on Accountablity--i.e. the section on fulfilling "reward" promises. I would suggest you do the same--and then give some thought as to what you are going to do.

I believe that most of us are reasonable people--if there is a reason your promises haven't been fulfilled, tell us, we will be most willing to listen.

Susan I agree. He said in February he'd be shipping every two weeks until we all got our cutters. If that was the case, we would have all gotten ours. Sadly I ordered 4 sets with book and cookie dough. Also this was my first kickstarter project and now sadly because of this project, it's also my last. I just sent him yet another email. Will wait a few days for a response since I didn't get a response from my last one and then if I don't get a response I'll be reporting to kickstarter. There really needs to be some way to be able to hold people accountable!

    11. Brooke Spaulding on September 13, 2012

Can Kickstarter step in and do anything? This was my first back and it might be my last. Is he allowed to do that- take everyone's money and not provide anything in return?

    12. Davin on September 12, 2012

I havnt got my cutters either, I'm curious what's going on.

I was just wondering what the status on my cutters was too. It has been a very long time and no word. So sad.

I still haven't gotten my cookie cutters. I understand if some unexpected delays have happened, but it has been quite a while and I'm anxious to use them. Please post an update.

How about we all leave 'thumbs down, never delivered' in the main comments page on Aug. 16, a year since this was funded? Nobody's ever gotten anything and commented back. :-( Make the count on the comments tab go up with our feelings.

    21. Michelle Koch on July 25, 2012

      Anyone at all received anything??

    22. Nicola Johnson Allen on July 21, 2012

I'm wondering as well...I'm surprised there is no kind of accountability built into Kickstarter.

    23. Josh Ward on July 13, 2012

Well, he logged in again on July 11... But I guess not to talk to those of us who collectively gave him thousands of dollars.

    27. sean tompkins on June 28, 2012

Nothing here yet. I appreciate all the time that's gone into the development - I'm more than happy to wait for it to be done "right" - but updates on the status would be nice.

I agree with KH and GO it's now June 27th. Nothing. To all the people who signed up for this, has ANYONE gotten theirs? There should be some kind of list that shows all the backers and you should be able to give some estimates to everyone and anyone based on that list of who you've already sent them to who's coming up on the list and an approximate date based on production time. That part doesn't take a rocket scientist to do and all who invested deserve that.

How are things? It's June 1st now and I (one of the backers that funded your dream ) haven't received my clever cookie cutters or anything that looks like it... I still believe in your project. Please give us an up-date. Thank you very much.

    34. Louisa Tennant Todeasa on May 25, 2012

This was the first Kickstarter project I ever funded, and since I haven't received my cookie cutters yet...3 months after he said he was shipping them, I don't know that I ever will. I guess there is no accountability built are taking a chance that the person isn't just taking your money and leaving you high and dry!
