What is the SOVRYGN brand?
The term SOVRYGN (SOVEREIGN) refers to exceptional quality. We found this to be a befitting name for our one of a kind watch brand.
The SOVRYGN brand is not just another "affordable luxury watch" brand. It is the brainchild of a true watch enthusiast with years of experience studying the watchmaking industry.
SOVRYGN was established to solve a common problem which a lot of watch enthusiasts have encountered over time, while building their collection.
Given our fascination of time and the machines that represent its irrevocable essence, we invested a lot of time learning about the luxury watch industries and the hurdles that have prevented luxury watches from being available at affordable prices.
How did we do it?
We conducted research by contacting some of the world's most renowned watchmakers, with the aim of better understanding the logistics of the luxury watch industry.
- We discovered that luxury watch brands exploit the demand for products crafted from precious metals, and by doing so they incorporate the overpricing of stainless steel products.
- These brands also implement an unregulated retail distribution strategy allowing retailers to create artificial scarcity thus leading to price hikes.
Our passion for watches has given us the opportunity to resolve these issues by developing the SOVRYGN Imperial Collection.
Designed from high-grade 316L stainless steel and other exotic materials such as synthetic ruby and supple calf leather, the Imperial Collection shows the fine nature of luxurious timepieces.
Through our online sales channel, we are giving you direct access to our products at stellar prices.
After coordinating our research on the emergence of luxury watches and how they have influenced our lifestyle and fashion experiences, we drew inspiration from our findings to create our initial design concept.
As watch aficionados, we realized that many minimalistic designs don't have the "WOW" factor.
We took this into consideration and created this engineering marvel that'll have your friends, family, and even strangers astonished by the watchmaking craftsmanship.
After careful assessment, we have partnered with some of the industry’s best luxury watchmakers to design a prototype that reflects opulence.
We are confident in our designs, and this is a sentiment echoed by the reviews from beta users; the following is shared with permission:
We set out to make timeless luxury watches at modest price points for the true watch enthusiast, and we can boldly say that we have achieved this goal.
Whether you're going for a boardroom meeting with CEOs, attending a cocktail party, or going out for an adventurous night in the city, the Imperial Collection is the perfect accessory.
As watch enthusiasts, we appreciate the importance of understanding the features of one's own timepiece. As such, we have highlighted them below to ensure that every member of the #SOVRYGN community has the specifications of their watch and can hold a conversation about it.
The Imperial Collection features a date and moon-phase complication at the 12 O'clock mark. This movement has two escapements which help in the appropriate distribution of energy and accurate time telling. It also includes 45 jewels made from synthetic ruby to reduce the friction between moving parts and maintain longevity.
The case is made of surgical grade 316L stainless steel, making the watch durable and proportionately weighted. The case is designed to withstand water resistance for up to 30M (3 ATM).
The watch features a domed sapphire crystal, with sapphire being only comparable to diamonds on the Mohs Scale Of Hardness. The scratch-resistant capabilities of sapphire ensure clarity of the watch face and ease of time telling.
The timepiece features a soft and supple calf leather strap, which guarantees comfortability for the owner. The leather strap is accompanied by a dual deployment butterfly clasp, which keeps the watch securely fastened.
To reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we have provided e-manuals on how to use the different functions of your watch:

How does a mechanical watch work?
Mechanical watches are usually wound to initiate the sweeping of the second hand. When the watch is wound, kinetic energy is transferred from the crown to the winding barrel.
The winding barrel, in turn, stores the kinetic energy from the crown. This kinetic energy powers the transmission, which is comprised of gears that are used to display the hour, minute, and second hands.
The kinetic energy being transferred needs to be distributed accordingly, for accurate time-telling. This is facilitated by the escapement, which incorporates the escapement wheel and the pallet fork.
The final component of the mechanical watch is the balance wheel, which provides the rhythmic movement of the pallet fork.
What is a complication?
A complication is any additional functionality a mechanical watch displays, aside from the hour and minute functions. The SOVRYGN Imperial Collection features the date and moon-phase complication at the 12 O'clock mark. The complications can be adjusted using the push buttons on the left and right side of the watch case.
