Violete, An Era: The Empowered Superhero Comic (Canceled)
A young woman with flight and super strength struggles to keep her secret from her family and protect her city. Is she enough?
Since her powers manifested during a convention, cosplayer Viola Sabol has become something new, something powerful! She is Violete, super heroine extraordinaire, put upon daughter from overbearing parents, and overworked student.
And now she has a new enemy to face: the police.
When vigilantism is treated as terrorism and her first super villain puts in an appearance, it's up to Violete to decide if her own future is worth putting on the line to stop a serial killer with no morals and his own claws.
Written by Jennifer Martin and Ed Jowett, this is one of the most fluid, character-driven comics we've ever had the delight of putting together.
Partnered with the amazing art of J.C. Grande, the story will grab you and not let go.
The goal of this Kickstarter is to raise funds to complete this black and white comic and to get it printed and distributed to backers that want a physical copy, as well as making it available on digital sites such as Comixology.
Supporting this comic isn't just getting out more super hero comics out there than what the big two can scrape together...
You're helping us get comics out into the world that aren't just the same old thing with superheroes.
Violete, a child with two loving parents and more than one doting teacher would rather have her nose in a book then on the end of some criminals fist, but after awakening with the power of flight and enhanced strength, she couldn't imagine her life being any different.
Having put more than her fair share of criminals behind bars, she's caught the attention of someone willing to escalate the issue, as well as a mandate from the chief of police to end all vigilantism.
Now she has to choose between the new life she's made saving those around her, and letting the police do what they've been created for.
When Dane, a thief she catches in the opening pages of this issue, and a friend she will always regret losing, has returned with a horrible new power, the decision becomes moot.
Jennifer Martin has been working with SOV since Era: The Consortium started. She wrote some of the more memorable stories in the Core Rulebook and we are delighted to invite her back to add her talent to this comic.

Risks and challenges
This comic is fully scripted and ready to go, with artwork underway.
We believe that we can meet the committed schedule, but if anything happens, we'll let you know immediately and, as you may know from Lacuna #1, we'll even find a new artist if we must to finish the project!
While this is the first comic we've made under the Era: Comics banner, this is actually our thirteenth Kickstarter, and we have delivered (or are in the process of doing so; looking at you, Lacuna!) on all of our Kickstarters so far.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
