The plan is to record 16 songs in four days. If our math is correct, that's four per day. But if our experience has anything to say about things, it'll be more like 2 days of creative fire-starting and 2 days of laying down the goods.
As much fun as it is to get fancy in the studio, adding layers to layers, recording multiple guitar/vocal tracks, and sneaking in synths or guest musicians... We want to make this album RAW. We plan to record the album essentially "live" which means that Brad Kaminski, our extremely talented recording engineer, will be placing all of the microphones in all the right places so that we can play the songs like we do - spit flying and sweat not drying - then he'll work his magic in post-production to mix and balance to perfection.
The result should be a studio-quality album with live energy. You know when you go see a band that you've never heard and you love the show - like they blow you away - so you buy the CD at the merch table and take it home and play it for your friends and you're like "wait... they didn't have cello at the show. And they were way more intense. This is good, but they were way better live". You know those albums? We're gonna not make one of those. It will be an album that invites you into the real experience.
These 16 songs are an anthology of the last four years. Thank you for being a part of it.
