We're hoping to raise $25,000 to fund the creation of our new album and the purchase of equipment to enhance our live show. THANK YOU!
Ladies & gentlemen, it is time.
We're so excited to get this Kickstarter project up & running! After two albums, two years of touring, a transition from six to five members, hundreds of gigs and an incredible amount of good times, we've stumbled upon a new chapter.
After the release of our first album, SonoSings, we experienced so many amazing things…live sessions on NPR's Morning Edition, Studio 360, KCRW (with Chris Douridas) and Sirius XM; collaborations with the LA Contemporary Dance Company, Ozomatli & Anne Litt of KCRW, the Young @ Heart Chorus, a live performance with Sara Bareilles and appearances at South by Southwest 2011, Sundance 2010 and the ASCAP Awards. We were also fortunate enough to gain support from Verve Music Group in 2009, enabling us to build a wonderful family of fans as we have toured the country for the past two years. We are continually astounded and eternally grateful for all the support we experience by making music. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
We are burning to make this new album for our fans. Deep in the process of writing & arranging all original material for the album, we have begun to record on the road, in bathrooms and bedrooms, with some of Chris' portable gear. We are riding the wave of inspiriation and kicking it into high gear, pursuing the creation of progressive, inspiring, vocal music. This album is going to be one of kind, with everything written, recorded, and mixed by us without the assistance or influence of a label, a bank, or a fairy godmother :) With the creation of this album, there is opportunity for tremendous growth. Our goal is not only to push our musical creatively, but also to widen our sphere of influence. We're challenging ourselves to fine tune and envigorate our live shows, with the precision and energy that will set us apart as a force to be reckoned with. We are pushing ourselves to write music that inspires, intrigues, and brings joy to anyone & everyone who will listen.
Through your generous donations, we are hoping to raise $25,000 in the next 40 days to support the production of this new record and the enhancement of our live show. $25,000 may seem like a lofty goal, but it's a tiny fraction of what big budget artists get to spend on recording and producing new music & buying the necessary sound equipment to perform live at their fullest potential. From recording equipment, to mixing & mastering, to artwork, manufacturing and distribution, making an album is an expensive process from start to finish.
So, we need a little help from our friends :)
In addition to using the funding for the album expenses, we have been dreaming of enhancing our live show through the purchase of more advanced sound equipment. Every cool sound you hear on the record, we want to be able to create live. In-ear monitors & more elaborate effects pedals are two things that will really take our live show to the next level. With this new gear, we can fully represent the Sonos sound in our live show - something we have fantasized about for several years.
If you love the music we are making, if you love seeing us live, if you want to be part of the vocal music movement, here is your chance to join us in support of our "Grassroots Project". This gives you a real, tangible, direct way to support independent music creation and help us get to the next level as a band. Whether you give $5 or $5,000, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for believing in us. We are so proud and blessed to have such wonderful fans. We can't wait to take this journey with you and share all the new music and new experiences with you.
Look for the new album & badass live shows near you in Fall 2011!
