Submitted for your approval, this new journey -  one part steampunk, two-parts retro, about the robots and humans universe of  "Rogers Robots :451".

As a companion to my first ever solo oil-on-canvas (fig1) gallery showing (May 29th of this year- details to follow),  I'm excited to launch a series of limited edition 'sketchbooks' that will lay out the art and initial parts of the universe of RR 451 (as seen on @rogers_robots451 ). In fact, once we hit our first goal, I will tell the printer to roll forward with book #1, so that they'll be ready by the gallery show opening. THAT's how much I trust you!

This Kickstarter campaign is about getting the work into the hands of the right audience (without being blocked by The Gatekeepers- more on them later). The underlying theme of RR 451 comes from a very personal place, and also deals with trends that I see that are consuming all of us, regardless of where you may come from, how you vote, or what you believe. I hope you will come along on this journey of mine.  I'd be honored, Fellow Robot-Lover.

To learn more of the story of RR 451, we should start from the archives of the life of Test Pilot/Founder of the "Rogers Robots Conglomerate" himself Wilberforce Tecumseh 'Dodge' Rogers.

The following is from his unauthorized bio, and the last transcribed  audio recording:

... This is not a condemnation but an admission, that technology is not the rise of the machines, but a new plastic tower of Babel, a suit of armor humans have plastered over our bodies to buy our seat at the banquet of the gods.

Yet in Valhalla, they are only serving porridge and watery mead, and we are actually drunk on our own delusion of grandeur, and the fake promise of our own infinite stardom.

We remain chained up to the mystery of our own existence, and the denial of our mortality. How do I know this? I am the inventor of false promises.

I say, Up Mars, Down Eros! Embrace the Geminiac twindom of inevitable dichotomy, of fiery assumptions and cold facts, of nuts and bolts instead of birds and bees! Do you self-identify as a parasite in Eden, or a synapse of the Universe’s mathematical calculations?

So here it is then, as kisses blown to a mirror that reveals nothing (as vampires are invisible).

There’s no going back as we walk backwards while looking ahead. Who pulls the strings? Who proofreads the rants? Who will flip the switch and welcome us to the uncanny valley?

"Dodge" Rogers was an overachiever of great hubris. It is widely thought that the terminal Illness of his only daughter finally drove him mad, spawning the cycle of events that at first innovated, then enslaved humanity's future.  (Also - threatened the well being of Certain Robotic Sentients, but we're getting ahead of ourselves).

Suffice to say, those details will be further illuminated within the pages of RR:451: The Sketchbook Series. And remember.

The Code Must Flow.

It's cool stuff. It's earthy, it's metallic, it's emotional. Vulgar, if you ask some A.I. Beings.  (all art © Roger Kupelian)

IN other words, Once we hit $7451 - all Book One Supporters get book 2 FOR FREE, AND get their names in book 2 as well. So if the Great Code Wills It, let's have more!

Risks and challenges

Apart from Acts of Gatekeepers and the all too mortal failings of carbon units, the book itself is already together, and ready to go to the printers, so the likelihood of incompletion is quite low, even if delayed for whatever reason (again, most likely due to human error).
