For backers only. If you're a backer of this project, please log in to read this post.
I know we haven’t posted any news here in a while since we made a point to migrate all of our Kickstarter backers to other channels like Facebook or a MailChimp list - but the news for today is just too good to miss the chance.
In short the Redwall Adventure game has continued steady progress and we’re just about ready to release our first Early Access build on Steam. KaChow!
Yesterday we got through the initial review process to post a Coming Soon page on Steam and it's live right now, right here:
This seemed important enough to make a rare appearance here and just double check that all of our very first backers were in the loop.
It's taken a long time to get here and we've been through a lot of twists and turns but we'd never be here at all if it weren't for the steady and consistent support of fans.
Now these letters are supposed to always include a call to action - here it is:
Please add this game to your wishlist.
It doesn't cost a dime but it helps us measure the kind of interest we're looking at for a limited early access release around the end of summer. (more to tell on that front, but we'll be communicating on Facebook and the game's community page.)
PS: One last thing...because we know you'll ask...Yes, we will definitely be holding the launch feast just as we promised back in 2014 along with any of the other backer rewards that were linked to this auspicious reality. So more to follow as we get closer...
We've got good news and we've got bad news. The good news is really very good and I'll start there.
The Good News
We are proud to announce that The highly respected Maclellan Foundation has agreed to support us and with their credibility came a bunch of other commitments. So within the space of a couple weeks we've seen our offering go from ~15% committed to > 80%. Interest is exploding, momentum is high. What's left is to cross the finish line at a sprint. You can get more details here on our blog.
You - the loyal Redwall fans - have been very good to us and immensely supportive. There is no way we could have attracted the attention of a group like Maclellan if it weren't for your ongoing and very visible engagement across the web on forums, fan pages and social media. We've said it before but again, THANK YOU! It is truly because of the way the audience has gotten behind us that the first Redwall video game is taking this leap forward.
With that in mind - we're asking for your help once again to help us close out what remains of our full funding goal and there are several ways to add fuel to the fire.
Pitch or Pitch-In
- Just like during the KickStarter campaign, we've created two pages to make it easy to spread awareness and support for a Redwall adventure game.
Check out these pages and share the news. This is both the easiest and most valuable form of help here. At this point nothing is more on-point than broadcasting the update.
- We are looking for a handful of additional angel investors to close the funding gap. We've been very selective so far about who we work with but if you're an accredited US investor then we invite you to take a look at our pitch site and let us know if you're interested.
- If you're not an investor, but still want to pitch in financially, we've created this page where you can do just that. For legal reasons we don't want to technically make these game pre-sales...but In the end a dollar is a dollar. Every cent we raise through people pitching in is money we don't need to raise from investors so both paths lead to the same goal. If anything, the more 'pitch in' dollars that come in the better position we'll be in for game #2...
Knowing how many people looked at the AbbeyCraft Kickstarter and asked us about an adventure game, we hope you'll find this news to be exciting and encouraging. It's been almost two years since we started down this road and for us personally it's been a whole new world to learn about, navigate, and finally find a place in. Knowing know, in hindsight, that it was all headed to this moment of victory makes us want to yell...
The Bad News...
Just kidding - there is no bad news. ;)
