Our Sincerest Apologies for Continued Delays - Project Update #8
We regret to inform all of our backers and supporters than we still have no fixed date for the release of Sakura Sakura and will need to push it back later than April. Simply put, we vastly underestimated the time it would take to increase the resolution of a game this size. Backgrounds and standard images went fine, but we hit a bit of a wall when we got to the sprites. Sakura alone has 2682 different files for her sprites. Since they’re all animated, it takes a lot of work to not only increase the resolution of each image but also to make sure they’re all working correctly as a unit.
Fortunately, our upscaling and image editing work is pretty much complete at this point, though yet again, inserting these images into the game is going to take a lot of work. It’s for that reason that we don’t want to set a release date at this time.
We extend our sincerest apologies to everyone and promise that we’re working hard to avoid such missteps in the future. As such, we have brought on additional industry veteran project managers to take over and manage this project and get a fundamental grasp on our issues.
Please note, that all other projects are currently on schedule. However, we will be transferring all currently ongoing projects except one (Newton and the Apple Tree) to our new project managers.

As long as we are kept updated I personally am not worried about the delay, you've actually explained what the delay is which is more than some other projects have done in the past so for me that shows that you are on the right track when it comes to dealing with the backers.

It's fine for me. Giving out release dates and then taking them back would be a hassle for everyone. Take your time and announce the true date when you are ready. Nobody is gonna die for a justified delay
