Risks and challenges
There are always two major challenges with Kickstarter campaigns: Production, and shipping. Here's how we tackle those issues:
We have worked with our producer for 3 years now, who we personally know very well. We visit him several times a year and have seen the production facilities where our socks are produced. We believe that our producer is reliant, and he is (pretty much) always on time. Fear not! This is why we have added a months buffer on our campaign. That being said, there are still risks involved. We can never do anything about "force majeure", but we've made sure that we are prepared for most scenarios.
This is our 3rd crowdfunding campaign for URU Design, which means that we should know how to do this right! Both of our previous campaigns have been successful, delivering more than 95% of all SOLOSOCKS on time. Last year, 1900 backers ordered more than 4000 packs of SOLOSOCKS, which was a logistical challenge for our small team. As soon as we saw the campaign take off, we shifted our focus from promoting the campaign, to making sure that we could deliver on our promise to ship before Christmas. We packed our bags, flew to Germany and packed all the shipments for 3 days straight. We have a good warehouse and logistic system set up in Germany, and we will make sure that we are ready to go to work when the campaign ends!
