....to secure your piece of limited First Edition nöni™cookware at prices never to be repeated!
Chefs and home cooks are loving the nöni™ pans we shipped in our first USA wrought stainless cookware launch campaign earlier in 2018.
Loving them for their exceptional conductivity (fast and even heat), and searing/browning performance more like iron than stainless. Our 1/8" solid non-Nickel ferritic stainless is so different, it's a revelation.
Loving their indestructible, seamless, smooth, 1-piece construction, and the knowledge that their limited edition pans, engraved with 'First Edition' and date of manufacture, will be handed down as family heirlooms for many generations.
Everyone should know by now the warnings from independent scientists about nonstick cookware, but what about the sheer waste?
Not just retail pans: now there's even crowdfunding campaigns for reasonably durable stainless pans made offshore with nonstick coatings. It makes no sense: in a few years the pan will still be structurally fine, but the nonstick coating will be worn out, and an otherwise good stainless pan will be thrown in the landfill.
"But imported nonstick is cheaper than your solid stainless USA-made pans."
Yes, but not after you've thrown 3 of them out. Our pans will last for centuries, and be passed down through many generations. Invest in nöni™ now, save by never replacing your cookware again in your life, and hand them on as family heirlooms. Now that's value for money!
Yes, this is certainly NOT a 'flash-in-the-pan' hipster Kickstarter gadget.....
We're engineers, not marketeers, and it should be clear from the above world-first features that nöni™ represents a whole new category of high performance cookware: seamless 1-piece stainless.
There are no others, and we hold the patents*.....
However, we can't make history alone, without your funding here on Kickstarter, and without all your generous sharing on social media.
That's why we always say 'we're in this together'!
A major attraction for backers in all our past Kickstarters has been how we stamp every limited edition Kickstarter launch pan with 'FIRST EDITION'.
Every backer of this campaign will receive their 12.5" Skillets and Skillet-lids stamped with the rare 'FIRST EDITION' in base, and month/year, as heirloom witness.
Please remember: we promise all our Kickstarter campaign backers we only ever make First Edition pans for them alone, and never again after the launch campaign closes. If you don't pledge here, there is no other way to purchase a First Edition pan.
So NOW is the time to secure your rare piece of American cookware history!
See details of all noni™ Reward offers listed in right column (on desktop), or in 'menu' on mobile.
These introductory 'Try Me' prices are not sustainable, and are expected to be higher eventually at retail. (Like any product, actual retailer pricing is beyond our control, however prices are likely to move up quickly due to the high margin expectations of some retailers.)
Pledge for the '#SERIES nöni USA 12.5" Sauté+Skillet-lid' - the lowest price these two pans will ever be, and they will never again engraved in numbered series with 'FIRST EDITION' and date stamp. The most collectible of all First Edition pans!
Why two ranges of cookware?
Wrought, not cast iron, our US-ION™ range is already well loved by chefs and experts because they cook and season just like smooth cast iron, but at half the weight.
Seasoned iron is still the best possible natural non-toxic nonstick for all high temperature frying/grilling with fats/oils. Stainless steel is still the best choice for anything that attacks the natural seasoning, like acidic sauces, slow-cooking with liquids, etc.

After all the centuries of cookware development, and all the industrial might of the big import brands, and old clad stainless brands, is this solid new American cookware really a world-first?!
Yes it certainly is!
Nöni™ is the first cookware to be wrought from one seamless piece of stainless steel. Crafted in Chicago from a flat sheet of American 1/8" ferritic (non-Nickel) stainless into a high performance seamless 1-piece pan using our newly-patented process.
It has never been done before because it is almost impossible, and not possible with traditional pressing methods. (No, our pans are not pressed!)
After thousands of years of metal cookware (and decades of disposable cookware), this innovative little engineering development company found a way.....and patented it.
One solid 1/8" thick wrought piece is far more durable (basically indestructible) and hygienic than traditional riveted/welded/screwed, clad/multi-ply contructions still used by ALL other top brands of stainless cookware.
The best of those regular multi-part jointed pans might last decades, but nöni™ will last centuries. In fact, our warranty is multi-century!
We don't know exactly how long our Solidteknics cookware will last, but it is clear to any mechanical engineer that these tough 1-piece pans will go on for multiple centuries. They will be handed down as family heirlooms for many generations, and eliminate a lot of disposable cookware currently going into our landfill.
See Section 2 for more details on our multi-century warranty: how we can offer it, and why!
This is our 4th USA Kickstarter campaign (after one for wrought stainless, and two for wrought iron pans), and we've also had 15 successful campaigns in Australia, where it all started...
As a result of our popularity on Kickstarter, we've been able to fund the very expensive development, tooling, and production for our Solidteknics cookware in Australia and the USA, instead of importing from offshore factories like most. Just as important, Kickstarter exposure has built a solid following on social media, which has in turn built retail and export success.
Our greatest pride is our big tribe of dedicated supporters, already planning to hand down their healthy and sustainable heirloom cookware.
Feedback from the chefs and home cooking community after cooking on their rare First Edition nöni™ pans has been overwhelmingly positive. Below this is just a very small sample of the many comments and reviews we've seen. All unsponsored, unplanted, independent opinion.

Thank you all!!
Yes.....if it is the right type of stainless!
For nöni™ we had to find a type of stainless steel that would not leach Nickel, and which would be highly conductive in solid monobloc, without using multiple ply layers with aluminum or copper. This is not the more common Nickel austenitic stainless steel, with poor conductivity and Nickel leaching: this ferritic grade is non-Nickel, and is much more heat conductive. In fact, it is almost twice as conductive as normal austentic (Ni) stainless.
Not quite as conductive as our wrought iron pans, but it feels very close when you're cooking, and this ferritic stainless sears and browns foods a lot like iron. In other words, you will find nöni™ cooks more like iron than stainless.
Conductivity of regular common austentic stainless is so poor that manufacturers developed clad/ply and disc-based stainless (with layers of aluminum or copper) to help overcome the inherent poor conduction of those austenitic Nickel stainless steels. We've proven that this complexity isn't necessary, and cookware can be solid stainless.....if you start with the right type of highly conductive ferritic stainless steel.
See one of the independent tests below of nöni™ conductivity, in an eye-opening 'boiling race' against another top tri-ply stainless brand.
Chefs can feel how conductive our cookware is versus the old multi-ply clad cookware, and this video clearly shows it: one solid thick monobloc of the right material is more efficient than multiple layers fighting to overcome the insulating final layer of very low conductivity austenitic Nickel stainless.
All the top brands in stainless cookware use these multi-ply clad layers of stainless and aluminum (or copper). Why? Because they don't know how to make a solid monobloc pan from one piece of highly conductive ferritic stainless. We hold the patents.
Amateur engineers please note: Yes, stainless steel has earned a reputation for being a poor conductor because most folk think of the more common austenitic (high Nickel) stainless, which is indeed such a poor conductor that it is almost an insulator. A thin pan stamped from austenitic stainless steel would make a terrible skillet, being slow/inefficient to heat, with hot and cold patches. Our 1/8" solid ferritic stainless skillets are only related to those pans by iron and chromium: everything else is different. That is why the chefs and experts who have cooked with nöni™ are always shocked by the conductivity: both speed and evenness of heating.
Please remember: This is a new era in cookware engineering, not marketing. We're real mechanical engineers who cook, not marketeers.
Our patent-pending nöni™ is the only seamless one-piece stainless steel production cookware in the world, more conductive than tri-ply, and easily the most durable. Our multi-century warranty is not a marketing gimmick.
We launched a whole new wrought seamless cookware industry in Australia in 2014, then the USA in 2018, with a total of 18 strongly supported Kickstarter campaigns, followed by retail and export success. Our Solidteknics cookware is acclaimed by chefs and experts, health and sustainability-conscious home cooks. Our new USA cookware brings production much closer to our rapidly growing USA support base.
Most cookware is imported, and disposable synthetic nonsticks sadly still dominate the retail shelves.....and landfills. We're helping change attitudes to all that waste and damage, and growing a grassroots movement rejecting disposable/toxic cookware.
We got the engineering right, but we can't do it alone! If you want our vision to survive, please follow our USA Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, our Solid Supporters newsletter list, and join the wonderful community on the Facebook Solidteknics Cookware Users Group.
Then please SHARE the news with all your friends: that you’ve found the finest stainless cookware available today, they're now made in USA, and these new heirloom collectible FIRST EDITION nöni™ pans are only available this once, by pledging here on Kickstarter before the campaign deadline.
Together we'll make history, not just the world's finest new breed of seamless cookware.
Thank you and Happy Cooking!!
Mark, Steve, Belinda, Marshall, and the Solidteknics USA Team
We didn't want to make a cheap thin lid that was only a lid, like everyone else. Because we're manufacturing in the USA from USA stainless, no matter how thin/cheap we made the lid, cost would never be as low as the cheap imports.
Perfect as a frying/grilling skillet, roasting pan, baking tray, pizzas, crêpes, tortillas, etc, etc. True versatility!
Unusual (we think we're the first), but true: we are offering a multi-century warranty for nöni™, and all our Solidteknics cookware.
This is not a marketing gimmick. We're not marketeers, we're engineers.....and this is solid engineering:
Made from one seamless 3mm wrought monobloc of very tough ferritic stainless, this material won't crack like cast iron. There are no synthetic coatings or enamel, and no rivets, welds, seams or clad/ply layers to eventually fail. It would be clear to any experienced engineer that there is far more than one century of life in nöni™ cookware, and quite possibly millennia.....
Our multi-century warranty applies whether used in the home, restaurant, or campfire.....nöni™ is basically indestructible, in any cooking situation!
Sustainability and legacy through multi-century durability:
We want our supporters to buy our cookware only once, and hand them down for multiple generations as treasured heirlooms. That's why we stamp the date of manufacture on every pan. Parents and grandparents are already talking about handing down their heirloom Solidteknics pans (some writing them into their will!), and that's what makes us most proud of all.....making heirloom history, not just cookware.
FAQ: But isn't solid stainless steel a poor heat conductor?
A: No, this is our exceptional conductive solid ferritic stainless steel!
Our USA-made stainless is not the more common Nickel austenitic stainless steel: our ferritic grade is much more heat conductive. In fact, it is almost twice as conductive as normal austentic stainless, so it heats faster than complex old clad multi-ply stainless steels traditionally used by all the other top brands. They also need rivets/welds/screws. Our nöni™ is one solid, seamless, rivetless, multi-generation indestructible monobloc of tough ferritic stainless.
More detail on our nöni™ ferritic non-Nickel stainless steel material
Our new stainless pans are called, in full, 'CoSSNoNi', for 'Conductive Seamless Stainless Non-Nickel' ('nöni' for short!). Our nöni™ pans are formed into shape from one solid sheet of 1/8" ferritic non-Nickel stainless steel (only very tiny trace amounts of Nickel: 0.6% maximum), which is nearly twice as conductive as regular Nickel-based stainless steels (eg. '18-10 stainless' means 18% Chromium and 10% Nickel). This makes our ferritic stainless more thermally conductive, and also very compatible with induction, without the need for clad/ply layers.
We were very fortunate to find the exact ferritic stainless, made in the USA, we needed for nöni: more conductive than regular Nickel stainless steels so we didn't need clad layers for fast and even heating, non-nickel for magnetism (induction compatibility), and free of heavy metals (for health). It also had to be formable into our saucepan shapes with our new patent-pending method. Not an easy development challenge.....but now the results speak for themselves!

Horses for courses.....
We still prefer the natural nonstick of seasoned iron for high temp frying, grilling, etc, but.....
'Could I just wait until they're made in Australia?' We will eventually replicate both nöni ranges in our USA and Australian factories, though there will be some regional differences (eg. more wok/sauteuse styles in Australia, more griddles in USA). It will take time though: we have so many new innovations to launch (cookware, knives, and other chef tools) that it may take a few years.
Don't miss this first/last opportunity: If you particularly like the look of these new USA nöni pans, we recommend pledging for them now, while they are historic First Edition of our first 12.5" USA production, and while they are much lower in price than the eventual retails.

Compulsory Kickstarter 'risks' section:
Risks and challenges
After a long and intensive development period, 15 (fifteen!) successful Kickstarter campaigns in Australia, three in the USA, overwhelmingly positive feedback from top chefs, strong retail sales and exports, and many production runs, SOLIDteknics is rapidly becoming established as a major chef equipment brand.
Though undeniably very hard work to launch manufacturing in Australia and the USA, on the scale of products and businesses I’ve launched this is certainly at the low risk end.
After decades in the chef equipment industry and a long R&D process, I’m very confident the product is the best it can be - in fact, the best in the world - for all the reasons presented in the project detail.
If our backers allow us reach our funding goal, the funds will be quickly applied to the tooling and production costs and we will ship on time (barring 'acts of God' or crazy 'left-fielders'!), as promised. We have a long and proven track record of keeping our promises, and fixing any unexpected issues quickly and thoroughly, with mutual respect.
Apart from all the engineering experience, it is our amazing strong base of passionate supporters who really ensures our success with each campaign (then ongoing retail and export success). We couldn't do it without YOU, and we are very grateful for all your support. Thank you all!
