Raw, smooth iron finish with no seasoning. Like our existing Raw AUS-ION pans, except no wax coating - just dipped in oil to prevent short-term rust.
This is not another synthetic coating. This is natural non-GMO rice bran oil transformed into natural non-toxic seasoning on our Satin surface finish. This finish is achieved through a process called 'shot peening' (also known as shot blasting). Thousands of small steel balls are fired at the surface at extreme velocities to indent (peen) the surface without removing metal. The end result is a luxe satin finish.
With seasoning and cooking, both finishes perform the same, the finish makes no difference to the durability of the pan.
AUS-ION are workhorse pans, not beauty queens, performance is key - the proof as you will see is in the cooking!Last updated:
Kickstarter only allows you to back one reward at a time, because it is a system that was really designed for crowdfunding, not online retail. So if you can't find a set that matches your needs, why not build your own?!
An example - you need to log into Kickstarter, click 'manage your pledge' and change the amount pledged to total the amount of the pans you would like plus $19 shipping for your first pan and $5 for each additional AUS-ION pan.
If you are outside of Australia, please message us for the shipping cost.

To back an additional 21cm pan, please adjust your pledge by the cost of the pan plus shipping of $5 per pan.
Super Earlybirds 21cm AUS-ION RAW - $49
Super Earlybirds 21cm AUS-ION SATIN - $79
Kickstarter 21cm AUS-ION RAW - $59
Kickstarter 21cm AUS-ION SATIN - $89
You can add other pans from our range to your pledge, see our solidteknics.com/shop for all options.
Please then be sure to direct message us with the list of the extra pans you have added in.
Thank you to everyone who has done this to date - it has been extremely helpful.Last updated:

At the stage, our new AUS-ION Lightning range will only be available through Kickstarter. They won’t be going into retail stores, or even onto our online store! Backing our Kickstarter campaign is the only way to secure these lighter, great value pans. Don’t miss out!Last updated:
Other than the introductory price point of the 21cm Lightning.
The 21cm actually has a bigger cooking surface than the 22cm, being a bit shallower and slightly different shape. This Lightning pan is more of a traditional skillet than a Sauteuse.
The other element to consider is the 2.5mm thickness, this is a vast difference to the 3mm in weight and speed of conduction. The new Lightning will just feel like an easier handling, higher performance skillet to anyone who tries both.
Basically, the Lightning is a better pure workhorse skillet, while the Sauteuse is a great...Sauteuse!Last updated:
We have been experiencing delays with shipping due to COVID-19, and the situation is constantly changing. It's difficult for us to predict how international shipping will be operating in three months time (delivery estimated for July), so if you are a backer outside of Australia, please only pledge with the understanding that there may be disruptions and delays outside of our control.Last updated:
