We are back with our fifth Kickstarter campaign - welcome to The Carry-On Closet 2.0. Luggage that fits your on-the-go lifestyle and keeps you organized on the road. Available in 2 sizes and 3 colors, this is the upgraded version of our suitcase that keeps selling out.
The shelf hangs on the handle of the suitcase and the front door acts as a kickstand - so you're fully self sufficient no matter how your hotel or Airbnb ends up being.
Why is it 2.0? It’s improved from the original that we keep selling out of! We launched the 1.0 last winter and we've sold out of it 5 times. On top of that, TIME Magazine listed us as Best Inventions 2018 in the travel category!
Sleek function in your room and stylish looks on the street - available in stealth black and navy blue.
The Carry-On fits as standard carry-on for all airlines, including European airlines with limited sizing. The Carry-On Plus is geared for American travelers - U.S. Domestic flights allow this size. Most flights will allow you to take either suitcase + a personal item (i.e. a backpack) *note: we've tested on 20+ flights with the Carry-On Plus size and never been denied.
How we've traveled with these:
Carry-On: 7x T-Shirts, 7x Socks, 7x Undies, 1 sweater, 1 pair of jeans, Swimsuit.
Carry-On Plus: 9x t-shirts, 10x socks, 10x Undies, 2 sweaters, 1 jeans, 1 jacket, Swimsuit.
Weight of Carry-On: 7.6lbs + Weight of Carry-On Plus: 7.9lbs. The shelf adds 0.5lbs)
1) Open the suitcase. 2) Grab shelf system by the top strap and lift up vertically. 3) Hang the shelf from the suitcase trolley handle using the top strap or using the pocket on the back of the shelf. 4) Grab your outfit and go!
This is a major upgrade to the 2.0 - we've made it a great suitcase regardless of the shelf. This means improved internal organization - allows for way better organization in case you're on a trip where you don't use the shelf. *We use the shelf on 3/4 of trips.
BYOPB - The internal pocket has space for any powerbank - allowing you to keep charged on the journey. The USB Port has a waterproof flap that covers when not in use.
Anti-Theft is at our core - included is a TSA Approved lock.
Our polycarbonate shell has an anti-scratch surface and offers a little bit of flex for the perfect balance of being durable for long haul (in case you want to check it), and light weight for carrying up the stairs to your Airbnb.
We love travel and we love the planet. Everything we build is designed with sustainability in mind. Starting now - we also remove 5lbs of plastic from the ocean for each item we sell.
We owe all of our success to our Kickstarter community and we will forever be thankful for you. You've got first dibs to get discounted products - and the first units to ship. First time backing a Kickstarter? Check over this quick demo to learn how it works.
Note: additional suitcase colors may be added to during the duration of the campaign. These will be called stretch goals that will be announced as we go.
Duties are included for the USA and Hong Kong. Shipments will be processed from our California or our Hong Kong warehouse. You will be responsible for duties in your country in case they are charged.

We believe that being a global citizen is about being a good steward to the earth while enjoying everything that it has to offer. Our goal is to undo the damage humans have caused to the planet, beginning with ocean plastics. That’s why everything we make is created with a belief in building sustainability for tomorrow. We strive to give more back to the planet than we take.
We’re obsessed with solving problems for our fellow global citizens. We create smart and sustainable everyday items at the intersection of fashion and technology. We make awesome products that are available to you at a price that’s reasonable, because we believe you should spend your money on experiences, not things.
Risks and challenges
This is our fifth Kickstarter campaign, we know that backer communication is top priority. We believe in always keeping transparent communication with our backers for any issues that may arise.
Supply chain risks: Low.
We have been working with our suitcase factory partner since 2017. We trust their quality, workmanship and are able to make exceptional items together with them. They manufacture for many other major brands.
Shipping risks: Low.
We have built in some flexibility in our production schedule for a few weeks delays due to customs - as sometimes that can happen when first importing a product into a country.
Unforeseen risks: Whatever the hurdle, we'll get through it together. We take our backer support and communication very seriously and we promise to keep you in the loop with what's going on. We hope to reach our stretch goals, at which point we'll be keeping you updated with monthly videos about the entire process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
