Risks and challenges
Even the most thought-out plans will have unforeseen issues. For the past 15 years, we have worked with our dedicated team of engineers to develop a product we’re ready to stand behind. Countless prototypes of the Solar Foldy have been developed and tested in real life situations. They exceeded our performance expectations--and we even have the original model, still intact!
Our biggest challenge will be production and cost, as we desire to have the product made in the United States, which comes with added costs, when compared to overseas pricing models.
Competition is always a factor in launching a new product--but without it, this business wouldn't be so exciting! We are aware that similar products have been produced, and our features differ a bit (charging plug-ins, lumen output, etc), but our intentions in creating this product was, and always will be, to support disaster relief. Our goal is to fund the project so we can produce the Solar Foldy and send our products to countries experiencing natural disasters that devastate infrastructure. To that point, we have already connected with the Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and many of the top disaster relief agencies to learn how to send and distribute products after our campaign is funded.
The timing is right, as hurricane season now upon us, leaving thousands without power as each disaster strikes. Though we can’t control the weather, we believe our product will make all the difference in times of need. To aid in our efforts, we’ve included incentives that allow us to send backers a Solar Foldy, while also providing one to organizations that are supporting current relief efforts.
Please feel free to share your concerns with us, and rest assured we will inform all backers of any unexpected shortages or delays. Looking forward to much success with you all and the Kickstarter Community! Thank you!
