WOMEN ARE FUNNY! LET US PROVE IT TO YOU!
Since setting up our Theatre Company in July 2016, our biggest dream was to perform at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We had no idea that we would have the opportunity to do it so soon.
At University we were known as a bit of a comedy duo, and became best friends through our love of glitter, theatre and the fact that we are socially awkward. After three years of working together, both on directed shows and devised pieces, we decided to set up a comedic Theatre company together.
The name "Socially Awkward Theatre Company" comes from hours of joint stories about the hundreds of socially awkward situations we had gotten ourselves into. Such as deciding to host a dinner party, getting drunk whilst cooking the meal, and forgetting that we were due to have people over. #awkward.
Risks and challenges
Of course performing at the Edinburgh Fringe is exciting, it does come at a price! And as two people who have recently graduated we have been saving every penny that we can in order to afford it. We are using everything in our back pockets to fund the use of rehearsal spaces, buying props and costume for the show and paying for travel to Edinburgh. But unfortunately it's not enough!
Any donation, no matter how small if so useful.
£1 pays for a prop!
£5 pays for a costume!
£10 pays for a piece of set!
£50 pays for the cost of some printing!
Every penny is so important to us, and brings us one step closer to achieving our dream.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
