well 18 days to go and $61,000 pledged - epic epic effort everyone. Just re-watched the 57 days to go video. $55,000 included shooting in NZ - what would $75,000 get us, location shots in eastern Europe to get that authentic Ankh Morpork feel?
Well done everyone - keep the pledges coming in

People who do this for free though make other people think that it's not work, it's just a hobby. Film making is not a hobby. Your mechanic would never fix your car for nothing because he loves cars. He has a skill and he's applying it for you. You have a skill and we are basically pre-ordering it. Not ragging on you, just philosophically challenging the idea that anyone with skill and good ideas in the film industry needs to do this outside of their 'proper' job, and beg forgiveness for wanting payment. Story is important. At *least* as important as your carburettor. Without stories, psychologically, we die. I'm sure Terry would agree.

      Hi Jude,

I'd love for us to pay ourselves, but we're far too used to being struggling artists to see it any other way! It would probably interfere with the creative process or something (at least that's what they tell us). ;)

Still... we *are* looking forward to buying Terry a big drink, that's for certain!

      Hi Matthew,
So leather underpants and furry boots probably aren't going to cut it then? Check! Probably not the greatest idea having to thaw out our actor after each take - so we'll be sure to take a whole heap of warm stuff. :)
So how was NZ anyway? As every bit as spectacular as you had hoped for?

I am just so rapt for you guys - could nearly cry. This is beyond brilliant. Well Done!

Personally I think if you exceed your goal again you should pay yourselves. It's great doing stuff for love, but we are pledging because we want to see it made. There's no reason you shouldn't get paid to work if enough people want to pay you. And Terry.

I just came back from holiday in NZ, I spent a week around the south island, particularly Queenstown, Te Anau and if you shoot around Milford Sound or any of the Sounds (or anywhere in the south island in fact) here is my one piece of advice; Warm Clothing!. Good luck lads!

As I sit in the shadows of my windowless office, waiting for a kernel to recompile for a microchip that hasn't been built yet, I can't help but smile at the sheer flabbergasted joy I see in your video post. I'm happy for the career I have, but part of me is really envious of you guys location shooting under a clear sky. I'm glad I'm a backer and can't wait to see this epic. Well done!
