SNAPP Guides is a beautifully designed, simple to use tool for photographers who want to discover and get to incredible locations to photograph. Whether you're heading off on your travels or looking to photograph closer to home, SNAPP Guides brings you high quality, interactive destination guides, designed and created by pro photographers, to get you to the right place at the right time to get the shots you want.
If you love photography as much as we do, we're pretty sure you'll always prefer to be out somewhere with your camera rather than stuck inside figuring out when and where to head to next.
...but it takes time to plan the perfect shoot...
How many times have we missed out on a shot by arriving just a few minutes too late to catch the sunrise? Or driven round in search of that elusive viewpoint a fellow photographer tried to describe to us?
...and information can be tricky to gather...
Our experience of researching new locations to photograph is that information on the internet is dispersed and not always reliable. We've literally spent hours in the past trying to piece together the perfect itinerary and get an idea of what to expect in a new destination before we arrive.
SNAPP Guides is going to change all that...
Working with locally-based pro photographers across the globe, we are re-imagining destination guides for people who love travel and photography and want to spend more out shooting rather than trawling the internet in search of the next perfect spot. With our simple-to-use and beautifully designed app, you'll be able to head off with your camera to explore incredible new spots confident that you have all the information you need at your fingertips and available on a mobile device wherever you are.
With SNAPP Guides you'll discover incredible places to photograph, get local knowledge on what to expect when you get there and find out exactly how to reach a spot as well as the best times to shoot there. In addition you'll find creative ideas, tips and suggestions on gear to use from our team of pros. Simply download the app via Google Play or the App Store, decide where you want to head and purchase the guides you need in-app. You can sync the guides across multiple devices, use the maps and info on- and off-line. It's so easy to use and with you all the time.
Like most great ideas, SNAPP Guides has grown and developed as a result of our personal experiences and frustrations with photography. In 2014 we started to explore the idea of creating a quality app that would take the guesswork out of planning when and where to head to with our cameras. Who thought of it first? Well, watch this and you decide!
We now have a fully functioning prototype app with a demo guide of Lake Bled, Slovenia, and images and information ready to create the next 14 destination guides once programming of the app is complete. We have a growing list of photographers who have joined our team - proof to us that it's not only a great idea, but the next natural step for photography. For us it's about more than just finding amazing new places to photograph; it's also about building a network of like-minded people who love to explore the world through the medium of photography, sharing knowledge, encouraging people to photograph responsibly and make the best of whatever time they have for this hobby that we are so privileged to enjoy.
For the past 18 months, we've been using our savings, initiative and part-time freelance work to make sure there is a need for SNAPP Guides, to design the look of our guides and create a working prototype for testing. We now need your support to complete the programming of the app plus we need to expand our team of photographers to cover more destinations. The more support we receive, the more photographers we can bring into our circle and the more features we can add to the app and smart guides!

To simplify things, we've based our rewards on receiving vouchers that will allow you to pick and choose the guides that you want over an 18 month period. This means you can continue to add to your collection of guides as we release new destinations as well as selecting from destinations we already have covered. Or choose a destination guide plus an on-location photography experience with a SNAPP Pro to personally guide you around some of their top spots. Each guide will range in price from $10 - $25 depending on their size and content.

I am a pro photographer based in Slovenia. My background is in Management & Organisation and I have worked extensively in the tourist industry, starting out as a tour guide. In 2008 I successfully established my own photography tour company and since then have guided numerous small groups of photographers around beautiful Slovenia, Croatia and the Adriatic region.

I'm an amateur photographer based in London. Whilst living in Slovenia from 2011 - 2014, I worked with Luka using my background in marketing and operations management to help promote his photography business and to work on our new venture, SNAPP Guides.

Risks and challenges
When it comes to photography we have tons of experience between us and our team of SNAPP Pro Photographers plus we only work with photographers who are specialists in their chosen location. You can be confident that our guides contain up-to-date, accurate and quality information on photographing a location.
As for building an app, well we've not done that before so we've made sure we've partnered up with experts that have and are working closely with ARBOOBRA, a Slovene-based team of mobile app developers with plenty of quality apps under their belts.
Our guides will be available for download through Google Play or the App Store so we don't have to worry about postal fulfilment. As there is an extraordinary amount of information required per guide, we have estimated that the first 15 guides will be available from February 2016 and new guides will be added at regular intervals subsequently. There is some risk here as we get to know the speed our partner photographers are able to add their information but we will endeavour to keep on track.
Those who opt for our Rewards which offer time with a SNAPP Pro guide will arrange a suitable time with the photographer in question but need to bear in mind that our pros have many commitments but will be as flexible as they can with suggested times and dates.
