Small Souls, an americana folk duo from Portland, OR, is ready to record and release their first studio album. Read more
This project was successfully funded on September 1, 2012.
Because of your generosity, there will now be nine songs on the album. Those who buy the CD will also receive a download card for three additional re-mastered songs from our digital EP, for a total of 12 songs. We're also printing more CDs--300 instead of just 100--which means a lot more people will hear our music.
We enter the studio on Sept. 6 to start recording basic tracks. Once the recording is done, we'll have to mix the album, then have it mastered. We've hired Portland artist Wilder Schmaltz to create the album art, and Jon Ransom will design the CD for duplication and packaging.
We're doing it--we're making our first album! It will take a few months, but we'll keep you updated on our progress. We'll also be in touch soon regarding your selected reward. Thanks again for your pledges and ongoing support of independent music!

We can't tell you how thankful we are that all of you have helped us surpass our goal! We still have some time left on the campaign, though, so we're thinking of "stretch" goals...kind of a wouldn't-it-be-nice-if sorta thing. We're nearing $2500, and we're going to set a stretch goal of $3000. If we hit that number, we'll be able to print up 300 CDs instead of just 100. This means we'll be able to do a lot more promotion, getting the CD into the hands of radio, bloggers, newspapers and the like...basically, the CD will have better visibility and a better chance of being heard by the world at large. If you've got friends who might like to help, please spread the word about Small Souls! Thanks!
We've passed $2300 in pledges, which means another song on our album. ALL RIGHT! If we can make it to $3000, we'll be able to print 300 CDs (rather than just 100). That means more radio stations, magazines, and fans will get to hear the music. We've still got two weeks left--please share our link with friends and family. Your contributions are making this album happen. Thank you so much for your continued support!
