UPShoots sessions is a project cultivated by young people for young people. It is an opportunity for either people who have a desire to work in the music industry, or the artist themselves. With your support, we can bring share this project with a wider audience.
How much we hope to raise:
£1100! With your help we hope to raise this amount, we can’t emphasis enough how much this would be appreciated and put to good use- allowing young people to become involved and inspired.
The money you help raise will be used for:
- Hands on workshops for young people to partake in
- Artist fees
- DJ fees
- Equipment fees
Here at Small Green Shoots we aim to uplift and help expose young people who perhaps otherwise wouldn’t have the access/means to become heavily involved in the creative sector.
We are always working towards setting up workshops and events for young people to become involved in to spark an interest in the arts, young people are our focus and they are at the heart of all we create.
The UPShoots sessions are both a set of workshops and live performances, that will be held at Kings Cross Pancras Square, London. The Small Green Shoots will be taking part in the workshops, these include; artist liaison, event management, managing budgets and public relations and promotion.
This acquired knowledge will be great to add to our CVs and we will hopefully become more appealing to potential future employers. With broadening out skills it will enable us to feel more confident and encouraged.
There will be four live performances falling on a Friday - with a total of three artists per session, artists from varied genres were selected consciously, as we hoped a range of artists would get the chance to share their music and also network with one another to potentially work on future projects.
We will document the performances and create a promotional video edit; this is so the artists can go onto to share their performances as a visual content to further gain an audience.
Where did we draw inspiration from to create UpShoots?
Small Green Shoots emphasise inclusivity within the arts, no matter your background. We felt there was a divide and found that local young people were feeling left out of the multi-million-pound development, providing them with a space that was their own to enjoy and showcase their skills and talents to local commuters and businesses.

Risks and challenges
Without funding we unfortunately would not be able to see this project through, resulting in young people missing out on amazing work experience.
With being a youth led organisation we truly need your support so that this project can go ahead and be seen through so that we may experience and gain new skills that we would hope to put to practice in real life situations and job opportunities. Your funding will help to pay the artist fees and the workshops, as well as equipment and expenses to pay for the videographers and photographers so that what we create and learn can be seen by others to spark or further spark inspiration for young people! We want young people to gain the attitude of ‘if we can do it, so can you!’ The world is our oyster. Please donate, it will be greatly appreciated and put towards good use!
