Is the "all-ages" version only going to be a digital release or can I get it as a physical DVD?

    2. Creator Jasmine Choinski on May 11, 2014

Just wanted to let you know that I received my DVD, watched it with my Mom - and even though she is someone who is not interested in comics, she LOVED it. Sign of a good documentary! Thank you and please keep us up informed of your future projects!

    3. Creator Ori Avtalion on April 14, 2014

Got the DVD. Can't wait to watch :D. Is it correct that the director's commentary track is only available online? I could have waited a bit longer to have it on there. Oh well...

    4. Creator Laurel Ray on April 12, 2014

Brilliant and important film, guys. I also LOVED the book. Thanks!

    5. Creator Aric Acastleofbooks Aitch on April 10, 2014

I 2nd the image of the insert to print out idea.

    6. Creator Laurel Ray on April 6, 2014

Have not received my DVD as yet. Can't wait! Hope it arrives soon...

    7. Creator Lisa Fields Clark on April 6, 2014

Incredible job, folks! Love the documentary - so inspirational. Thank you! So proud to have backed this project

    8. Creator Small Fish Studios on April 4, 2014

David! The insert idea is a genius one. If you see I haven't created/posted it in a week or two, ping me a reminder at dave@davekellett.com

      Thanks!
      Dave

    9. Creator David Ellerie on April 3, 2014

For the new DVD release, is it being released in a plastic clamshell, or is it going to be like the paper envelopes that we kickstarters got in the mail?

If the former, I'd love to have an image of the insert to print out and put into my own plastic DVD clamshell. Frankly the paper envelope is a little tacky and it doesn't face out on the shelf.

    10. Creator VeniVidiVincent on April 1, 2014

The film is not available in the Canadian iTunes store, Google Play, or VHX as of today (April 1). I've been getting emails about this for years and I just want to see this thing.

    11. Creator Aonghus Collins on April 1, 2014

Hey, International Backer here - have you received the bulk batch of DVDs from the manufacturer yet? You mentioned that some backers already had their DVDs, but I'm guessing those are people who were in US, single DVD.

    12. Creator Kate Charles on March 17, 2014

Michael Sanchez, I was a two-DVD backer who switched to a DVD and a download, and my download code came through fine last Thursday.

    13. Creator Kate Charles on March 17, 2014

I watched the movie with a fellow Kickstarter on Saturday, and HOLY COW, you guys! It was start to finish professional and amazing, and you really grappled with the theme of the pros and cons of the digital revolution. Listening to Bill Watterson talk over the visuals of Calvin and Hobbes was so perfect, I think it was better than if you'd done video with him. This is just such an amazing project, and you did so much with it. I was really proud to see my name in the end credits. Now was the time for exactly this production, and *FANGIRL* and stuff. GOOD JOB *pompoms*

    14. Creator Michael Sanchez on March 14, 2014

Have all the downloads been sent out yet? Just wondering cause i have seen no mail yet and we were told tues-thurs. Or is there a snafu with backers getting multiple copies(I got 2, one DVD one e-ther)?

    15. Creator Rob Chambers on March 14, 2014

About when will the DVD be sent out? Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I still haven't received mine.

    16. Creator bandolian on March 14, 2014

I have to admit there were occasions during the long wait for STRIPPED when I thought. "This is really taking a while." Having just finished watching, I can see where the time went! Wonderful piece of work, totally worth the wait. Now I want to go back and freeze-frame the beautiful art samples that go by so fast. Seems certain to have great success.

    17. Creator Scott Corpany on March 13, 2014

Just finished watching my downloaded copy (on the sly at work), and my only complaint is that it had to end. I could listen to all of these artists go on and on!

    18. Creator Mike Boas on March 6, 2014

Am I correct in my understanding that my digital download link will come on the same day as the itunes release? April 1st?

    19. Creator Scott Thompson on March 3, 2014

I'm with Sara. i didn't realize the DVD was lower resolution either or I would have opted for the download. Too late to switch before it ships?

    20. Creator Sara on February 26, 2014

Geez, I wish I'd known that the DVD copy would be lower quality than the download. I'd have chosen the download, but stupid me chose the DVD, figuring the only difference was time.

    21. Creator Alex Gabbott on February 20, 2014

How about just giving the international backers a temporary VHX stream so we can see the movie we've waited literally years to see? Please don't confuse this with anger, we just want to see the thing!

    22. Creator Mike Kasprzak on February 20, 2014

All right, so there's a timing discrepancy too 'eh? A digital download "early access" date, a DVD ship date, and a "general release" date. So pick either the 1st or 2nd, because we can't do any more until the 3rd.

I've got to admit, I am disappointed things aren't simpler. Like: 1. Here's your download link; 2. DVD's ship when they ship (soon); 3. General release. Most projects I've backed have worked like this. Yes, it's true download links were never promised, but still, I'm confused why this isn't the case.

    23. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 20, 2014

When the film's in general release, it'll be available on iTunes and VHX.tv for download, yes. But there's no way to buy it beforehand, no.

    24. Creator Mike Kasprzak on February 20, 2014

Okay, I get that you don't want to do both. Whatever the added cost is, can us International backers get a way to throw a few more bucks at you to get access to the HD download while we wait for our discs?

    25. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 20, 2014

Hi Mike! As I mentioned below, the offer to swap out a download for a DVD doesn't work in the case of international shippers, admittedly. Since there's no good mechanism for reimbursing shipping, you'd probably want to opt for the DVD as originally promised for your backer reward.

    26. Creator Mike Kasprzak on February 20, 2014

      Wait... So it's either or?

TBH, I don't really care about the physical disc (especially at DVD resolution), but the extra I paid for shipping (Canada) does confuse things.

    27. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 20, 2014

      They'll be pressed

    28. Creator Davi Tassinari de Figueiredo on February 20, 2014

Another question: will the DVD be pressed or burned on demand? The main advantage of the DVD for me is the durability, but burned media will likely fade over time, so in this case I might go with the download and burn my own copy.

    29. Creator Davi Tassinari de Figueiredo on February 20, 2014

Well, just to be more positive, thanks for letting us choose! It's the paradox of choice however: while we didn't have to decide we were happy, but now neither of the options has *everything* we'd like, so we're sad we'll miss something either way.

I think I'll be getting the DVD because I'm old-fashioned and like physical media, but IIUC the suggestion to buy the download later still doesn't get us everything because it won't include the extra content (so there'll be no way to get this extra content *both* in a physical format and in HD).

A suggestion: maybe you could offer the people getting the DVD a high-def download of only the extras, and then we can buy the HD film later; it seems that would make everyone happy. Cheers!

    30. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 19, 2014

      FAQ so far:

      - The DVD will have closed captioning, and the download will come with an optionally-selected .srt file.
      - The resolution for the download is 1920x1080 as an H.264 MP4. The resolution for the DVD is 720x480
      - The same content will be in both: The full film, plus an extra 28 minutes of content. We had promised 16 extra minutes, but it's 28. What the heck. Shoot the moon. :)

    31. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 19, 2014

I'm sorry adding the option to choose has caused you angst: Not our intent!

      - Dave

    32. Creator fluffy on February 19, 2014

Also, I'd like to point out that the reward tiers didn't even include an HD download as one of the options; if we were given a choice up-front this would be less surprising, and I'd have probably opted for the HD download from the outset.

    33. Creator fluffy on February 19, 2014

I don't get why the HD download is being offered instead of the DVD, rather than in addition to - after all, digital downloads are practically free, and the funding and reward tiers were already structured based on having to ship out a physical good, which is the expensive part of reward fulfillment.

I mean, I definitely prefer a HD download over a DVD and I'll be selecting that, but I hope that you change your mind and just give everyone both regardless of the survey.

    34. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 19, 2014

@Alex Unfortunately, the offer to swap out a download for a DVD doesn't work in the case of international shippers, admittedly. Since there's no good mechanism for reimbursing shipping, you'll have to opt for the DVD as originally promised for your backer reward.

    35. Creator Alex Gabbott on February 19, 2014

Hi, I want the HD download, but I (and all the other international backers) would have already paid the $10 to post it. Is there any way we can still get the DVD+postage we paid for, and the download to watch whilst it's being delivered?

    36. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 19, 2014

      @Joan Touzet
1.) The download is HD, 1920x1080 -- and the DVD is standard def like all DVDs, at 720x480
      2.) It will, yes!
3.) I hadn't thought of that... but I suppose I can make that up, when the Kickstarter fulfillments crush dies down, sure!
      4.) It wouldn't, no.

      Hope that helps!
      Dave

    37. Creator Small Fish Studios on February 19, 2014

@MassHysteria: Thanks for the note! Happily, both DVDs and digital downloads will be available for sale when the film goes live to the world -- so the answer to your question is yes: You'll be able to get both. I'd suggest picking your preferred media, for now, and adding the second media when the film goes on sale. Thanks!

    38. Creator Joan Touzet on February 19, 2014

HI there, I echo MassHysteria's comments. I want both a DVD and the digital download. Can you answer these questions? 1) What resolution is the digital download vs. DVD standard rez (presumably 720p)? 2) Will the digital download have all the same extras as the DVD? 3) Can you provide printable jacket art so we can make up our own DVD or BluRay from a PDF + the downloaded file? 4) Alternately would a DVD ISO image be available alongside the higher rez download? Thanks in advance. With this info I can make a more informed decision :)

    39. Creator MassHysteria on February 19, 2014

I just got the reward survey, but I really want both delivery options. I like having the physical version, but I'm going to rip it and store it on my media server anyway, so having a hi def digital copy would be great. Is there any possibility of getting both? I'd even be willing to pay a little extra for that option (I've funded other kickstarters where you could add on some of the extras after the fact).

    40. Creator Brian Cox on January 22, 2014

      Estimated Delivery: Jan 2012

      Current Date: Jan 2014

I'm not trying to be a snarky Internet poster. This thing is two years late. What's the deal?

    41. Creator Rob Chambers on October 4, 2013

Any possibility of an update? Last time time we heard anything was July. :)

    42. Creator Walter L. Bazzini on June 24, 2013

Beautiful. Looks great, sounds great, feels great.

    43. Creator Tim Stahmer on June 18, 2013

Love the clip! Pacing is exactly right and the graphics are great. Cannot wait to see the whole movie.

    44. Creator Kat Kan on June 18, 2013

The clip was SO GOOD! Even with my not-so-great computer speakers, it was wonderful to hear and see those comics creators! I'm really looking forward to the whole thing now. Great job, everyone!

    45. Creator Laura Ortegon-Rico on May 24, 2013

Thank you so much for clarifying that!

    46. Creator Small Fish Studios on May 23, 2013

Hey Laura! The book and everything else will go out with the DVD. Thanks for you patience. Finalizing our titles and credits this week and they are looking amazing!

    47. Creator Laura Ortegon-Rico on May 18, 2013

You know, I know the DVDs haven't been created, and I have no problem with that. I can wait patiently ... but I'm just wondering. Has anyone received the books if they donated high enough? I haven't, so I'm just wondering if we're supposed to wait for the DVD to be created before the book will be delivered with it.

    48. Creator Davi Tassinari de Figueiredo on March 22, 2013

      Hi folks,

I and someone else commented on the previous updates, but in case you haven't seen it... in the new campaign, there's an option to get both the DVD and the HD download, which we didn't have on this one; is there a way we could pay the difference to get both instead of having to choose? I'd love to be able to get both the physical memento for my collection and the highest-quality video to watch.

      Thanks!

    49. Creator Small Fish Studios on March 22, 2013

      Thanks, Lonnie!

    50. Creator Lonnie Easterling on February 28, 2013

Adding ALL the backers to the closing credits as a "thank you" is a wonderful idea. I'm glad you're adding this.
