Risks and challenges
For us, the challenge is hitting a number that allows us to continue presenting quality games, with outstanding art, manufactured in the United States. Every time we publish a game, we run the same risk and have the same question - will people like this game? Our reputation as a company, and my reputation as a designer, is on the line with every game that we release. This drives me, as a designer, to create solid game designs that have the potential to be successful. As a publisher, we've continued to raise the bar in regards to production value and art, which is a bar we strive to meet or exceed with every release.
As we continue to grow as a company, not only in size but also in developing new games, Kickstarter has allowed us the opportunity to step up our production values, without having to take our production overseas. This is something we weren't able to do prior to Kickstarter. Kickstarter gives us a reach that we just didn't have before.
We do our very best to mitigate any risks associated with manufacturing games. We've built solid relationships with several state-side manufacturing companies, and know what to expect regarding quality and turnaround time. Of course, there's always the risk of something unexpected happening during the production process. Kickstarter gives us the tools to keep in contact with our backers, so we can keep them abreast of all aspects of production, each step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
