A strange boy with blue skin is found by a Huntsman in the woods near an ornate red door that seems to be connected to nothing. As the Huntsman picks up the child, an otherworldly man with a divine appearance emerges from the doorway. He tells the Huntsman a story of a terrible plague that has doomed his world and how the only hope to stop the destruction is his son, Edwin.
What is the meaning behind the strange red door and what can be done to stop the scourge from consuming the Universe?
Meet the Heroes
When he was little, Edwin was found by Hunter near a mysterious red door in the Forbidden Woods - a notorious forest that claims the lives of all who enters it. Because of this, some people of the town fear him and call him "Death boy." Edwin has the ability to see apparitions, but they only appear briefly to him. He often wonders if he actually sees anything or if it is just all in his imagination.
Lydia was born with an allergy to the sunlight. Not being able to hang outside with the other kids, she knows what its like to be ignored and left out. She is a rebellious young scholar with a sharp tongue and perhaps the only person in town who is more fascinated than scared that Hunter and Edwin were the only individuals to ever leave the Forbidden Woods alive. Hunter has kept the details of that day to himself, but that has not stopped Lydia from creating her own wild fantasies of Hunter and Edwin being grandiose heroes whom not even Death itself can stop.
Skilled as a huntsman and also a crackpot inventor, Hunter lives exiled in his log cabin on the outskirts of New Aguilar. He used to be admired by all, but that all changed on the day he entered the Forbidden Woods and found Edwin. The woods were known to house a monster that took the lives of all who entered, but Hunter's ego got the best of him as he thought he could conquer the beast. Unbeknownst to him, a young child who admired him followed him into the forest that day and was killed. The people blamed his death on Hunter for his recklessness and blatant disregard for safety.

Combat will be driven by team combos that grant certain colors of combo points. Team combos can be performed by a combination of actions: attacks, magic, abilities, and even some items can be part of combos.
For Example: Basic Ax Attack (Edwin) + Water magic (Lydia) = Basic Blue Combo (1 Blue CP gained)
The combo finisher card menu is displayed after a successful combo is performed. Points of the same color can be stacked by performing a boost, but if combo of a different element is performed, stored points are lost and replaced with the new element.
Combo points are used to perform combo finishers which are obtained by finding Finisher cards throughout the world. Finishers have a cost associated with them that are linked to a certain color of combo points and only finisher cards of the same element as the last combo are shown.
Jason Petterson is the founder of Broken Shotgun and all around cool guy. Reverie will be Jason's first full length game, but he has been making games ever since he started programming nearly a decade ago.
Oray Studios is an artists guild from Bandung, Indonesia. They have been doing a lot of indie games since 2008, and specialize in 2D design and illustrations.
Below are some samples of some of the tracks that will be in the game.
$15,000 - An extended soundtrack will be added featuring several character theme songs and a alternate title song.
$20,000 - A challenging high level dungeon will be added that can be unlocked once the main story is completed.
$30,000 - An original card game called "Circles & Squares" will be added to the game to play with certain NPCs throughout the game for unique rewards.
Risks and challenges
I quit my day job to work on Reverie full time, so this project has my full attention. With that being said, delays will be inevitable. To quote the great Miyamoto, "A delayed game is eventually good; a bad game is bad forever." The game has evolved so much already and it will keep doing so to make your time in the world of Reverie a memorable one.
Also I plan on keeping development transparent and updating the community regularly. Community feedback will also be used to improve new features in the game that are under development.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
