Know Your Skyline
Where you live and what you do forms your identity. It is your place - your mountain, your city, your home - that makes you who you are. We recognize the significance of one's place and set out to create a product that is functional and beautiful, but also a statement about you.
Be it summiting Mt. Rainier or running across the Golden Gate Bridge, when you see and use the Skyline Hang you are reminded of your connection to specific places. Whether displaying knives in your kitchen, tools in your shop, or keys by your door, the Skyline Hang is an elegant reminder of who you are.
Right at Home in Your Kitchen
Knives are one of the most important and expensive tools in the kitchen - they should be treated that way! Sticking them in a knife block dulls the blades and is a breeding ground for bacteria. Throwing knives in a drawer dings them and is just asking for a cut on your hand.
The Skyline Hang:
- Protects your blades from dings and dulling
- Organizes your knives, utensils, tools, and keys for easy access
- Keeps your knives in a clean, safe place
- Reminds you where you are from and who you are

Gift a Skyline Hang
The Skyline Hang is embedded with super strong neodymium magnets, so that you can be confident that your knives and tools will hang securely.
Shown above are our current designs. With your support we can continue making new Skylines of cities and places all around the world.
We design and produce all Skyline Hangs in Juneau, Alaska. Although there are additional costs to manufacturing in Alaska, it can be done to great success. Keeping production in Juneau allows us to ensure each Skyline Hang is of the highest quality while contributing to our local economy.
Keyholes and included hardware allow for mounting on a variety of surfaces. Each Hang is finished with food-safe mineral oil that inhibits the growth of bacteria, keeping your knives and Skyline Hang clean and safe.
We need your help to raise $12,000 to fund production of the Skyline Hang. We currently manufacture all Hangs with our self-built computer-numerically-controlled (CNC) router. However, the Skyline Hang is too expensive to produce at scale with our current equipment. We need the funding to purchase new equipment that will allow us to reduce costs and make the Skyline Hang a commercial reality.
We - Max Stanley and Chris Hinkley - are born and bred Alaskans, mechanical engineers by training, and lifelong woodworkers. We have extensive experience in production woodworking and CNC-manufacturing, including designing and building CNC-routers.
Like us, many people see where they live as a big part of who they are. Our products have a connection to place and identity that we hope will provide a new perspective.
Risks and challenges
We are ready to produce the Skyline Hang - we have equipment chosen, vendors lined up, and prices quoted. We have refined our manufacturing process to efficiently produce Skyline Hangs. We are confident we will be able to start shipping the Skyline Hang within a few months of becoming funded. However in our manufacturing experience we have found that delays can occur. To account for unexpected issues we have added a buffer into our delivery estimates.
We like to stay in the loop and figure you do as well. We will keep all backers updated with the status of the project so you know when you will get your Skyline.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
