Welcome to Sketchplanner 2.0! Sketchplanner (2018) was a successful Kickstarter last year started by Tom Bancroft, Phil Earnest and Elena Stewart based on a simple idea: We are artists who meet with clients and need a daily planner we can also sketch in! This would be the tool we could use to not only PLAN projects with dates and timelines, but also start SKETCHING those ideas! We did our research and discovered there was no planner or sketchbook like that, so we designed last year's popular Sketchplanner! Even though it was a success, we knew our Sketchplanner could be improved through our Kickstarter backer's input and also through partnering with someone that already knew the sketchbook world well, Ralph Thomas, the creator of the SketchWallet. Now Phil and Tom have partnered with Ralph to redesign the Sketchplanner 2019!
What we've discovered in the last year is considerable. We went to big box retailers to find out what kind of daily planners they offer and what they buy for their stores. Many of them don't want to hassle with "dated material" (meaning, anything with a short shelf life like yearly planners with actual annual dates and months printed in them). But, many of you DID like having each year's dates printed in the calendar pages. (Who wants to fill out your calendar days?) So, that stays. Others wanted even more paper options, like toned paper, ruled paper, thicker paper, or just MORE paper - Done! What we've come up with are OPTIONS. You can now purchase separate pieces to add to your Sketchplanner and customize it to become the perfect planner for you!
Also, we sought out a better, more lux cover and binding that will give your Sketchplanner a more professional look that many of you wanted. Along with that, we've made it an A5 size, so that it's still large enough to have room for your brilliant sketches, but a little smaller so it will fit in your backpack or purse easier. This Sketchplanner will travel nicely and present well at your meetings or at the coffeeshop for brainstorming sessions with collaborators.
Paper packs available are: sketch paper, toned tan paper, lined paper, watercolor paper, and an illustration cover stock. We'll be adding more as we go. When the Kickstarter campaign is over you will be able to add extras on through BackerKit.
Risks and challenges
There are always risks in any project. Here are some reasons you can have confidence in our project: 1. We've done this before and have delivered on time. 2. We've created the prototypes and have worked out any manufacturing issues. 3. We've worked with this manufacturer for a long time and have worked through shipping and logistics. 4. If we run into any unforeseen issues we'll keep you up-to-date every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
