THE SCAVENGER DECK
The Scavenger Deck consists of 54 illustrated loot cards that will work with all post-apocalyptic, modern and zombie pen and paper role-playing games.
Instead of aiming at one particular role-playing game (RPG), we wanted to cover them all.
The Scavenger Deck will be (if funded) followed shortly by a Fantasy and a Sci-Fi loot deck also supported by UNITS, read more down below.
One deck - all RPG worlds.
To back this up, the Scavenger Deck will also introduce you to the loot system UNITS. UNITS is a system to translate the loot cards into your RPG of choice, making them come alive on your device.
More about UNITS and the not-so-pretty QR-code down below.
All graphics/illustrations are subject to change and should not be considered as final renditions, but this is the style and path we want to tread. May contain explicit content, as any tabletop game, tv-series or daily newspaper does. We take responsibility for the depiction of our content in a context as we present it, as entertaiment and as trans-media. It does not represent the personal views of individuals.
You only need 40000 SEK, why crowdfunding? ($4800 €4300 £3400)
We've been working in our spare time for a year and have finalized all 54 cards. They are illustrated and narrated, almost ready for print. We want to see if there is enough support for a product like this, and we would like to be heard and seen at least a bit before we invest more time into this beloved project!

Anatomy of The Scavenger Card
The Scavenger Deck and all products in the UNITS-family will be printed with water-based colors on FSC paper.
Though we enjoy brooding about how the apocalypse is going to begin, we do not want to be the ones helping to start it, believe it or not.
The cards will be of the common poker-size that you can find in many other collectible card products, i.e. 63x88mm.
By pledging, you will of course get a special offer on The Scavenger Deck (from now on referred to as TSD. No not STD, _TSD_) and any add-on if it comes to that. Thanks for being a backer, it means the world to us!
Choose to support us in this project and become the owner of the first series of UNITS - The Scavenger Deck at a fair price!
- Put more chance into play.
- Get a look at what you're actually looting.
- Get inspired.
- Spice up your gaming experience with artistic images and online content.
- Be a part of a new, exciting journey where the digital world merges with the physical to strengthen the experience of classic pen and paper role-playing.
UNITS & THE QR-CODE
Or, as we all know. People tend to pop up their smartphones as soon as things gets slow. Why not let them browse through their inventory instead of the social media stream?
If you pledge like a Vulture or beyond you'll be granted access to UNITS Beta-app along with your TSD.
As of now UNITS runs on a web server but the plan is to create an app with an integrated QR-reader.
Here's what we imagine UNITS will look like within a year or two including a few features we've planned to implement.
Here follows a few more features that we plan to implement into UNITS:
- Personal profile with inventory
- Multi language support
- Create groups and designate GM
- Character sheet <-> inventory (card) interaction.
- GM option - Themes. Create atmosphere such as darkness, haze, red light etc.
- GM option - PMs (send Personal Messages).
- GM option - PIs (send Personal Items).
- GM option - Create characters and arm them.
We'd like to work closely with RPG producers from all over the world to find a mutually beneficial business deal to make this work i.e. we don't want to compete, we want to co-op. We believe that UNITS can add true value to all game groups.
What the future holds
We want to continue to expand TSD with boosters and perhaps even bigger collections. But we also like to get into Sci-fi and Fantasy.
To be able to mix items from different decks is something that we'd like to encourage. To use a ring mail in a Post-apocalyptic scenario feels totally right, and why not add a broadsword while you're at it?
A lot of interesting possibilities lay ahead, especially with the UNITS application.
Now go and get yourself a QR-reader and start practicing on fruit containers and what not.
WHO WE ARE
If TSD gets the support we hope, it would give us the opportunity and motivation to really invest in UNITS. This would enable us to make our dream come true - to create a bridge merging the digital and the physical RPG worlds.

Risks and challenges
The aim is to release UNITS - The Scavenger Deck in the fall of 2016.
With the experience of producing Maps and NPCs of the Wasteland the task of producing UNITS - The Scavenger Deck in time, quality and within budget should not be an issue.
The difference here is printing and shipping which of course is a big deal, but we have full confidence in our card manufacturer Cartamundi.
Cartamundi will demand flawless material for them to be able to print a high quality product and as Jimmy runs a logistics firm - Ringkvist Logistics AB (when he's not involved in UNITS) that should give us the means to ship things to the right addressee’s.
The task of creating UNITS - The Scavenger Deck is almost done, there are some final lay-out and fine tuning left to be done, but nothing we can't handle in a relatively short amount of time.
We aim to produce 2,000 decks in total - We, therefore, need to ensure sufficient funds to produce the decks and cover shipping all over the world for those that have made pledges.
