The F2P dilema
Crazy days at the Skara headquarters, working 16 hours per day including Saturdays and Sundays. But the game is looking great at this point, it´s incredible how Skara is growing so fast and every day we see something new. David Vercher, our Lead Character Artist, has just finished our third 3D character, the Tamvaasa explorer. You are the first ones to check the result, we are willing to see this race into the game and hopefully we will in just a couple of weeks.
A topic I wanted to talk about today is the F2P concept, because we receive a lot of questions and comments about it.
Why giving away the game for free? Well, we are not trying to imitate other studios by making as much money as possible. We just want to release the video game in which we've been working for the last four years.
I am looking forward to watching the Skara community behaving unexpectedly in the game, creating social connections and collaborative efforts that I could have never imagined. That is the goal of the entire team of Skara, and we are pretty excited about it.
What we also love from F2P is the freedom it gives to the creators by not depending on publishers, platform requirements or closed systems to build a community and connect with players. We can just release your game to the players and let them play and create their own stories.
I want to share with you the last concept art that David Güell (our Art Director with the awesome mustache) created to illustrate the Horde Mode.
Finally, thanks again for your support, patience and for backing our project.
