Bonus: Character Record Pads

Those of you who have seen the character card designs (discussion at the official forums) and asked for a similar character sheet for use with the game, this one is for you! We're adding a small pad of character sheets (2.5" x 3.5" in size, 50 sheets) to the Legacy Edition, making it even easier to start designing new Melee characters as soon as you've opened the box.

And, because we know the question will come up (we're learning, see?), these are available as an add-on: You can add a pack of three character pads to your pledge for only $5. That's 150 possible characters right there, each one just waiting for your imagination and a pencil to bring them to life.

Social Goals

To get even more cool stuff, we need all of you to be sure to share our social goals. As of this writing, the Twitter post has 123 retweets (almost 50% of the way to the goal!), and the Facebook post has 290 shares. And that's in just over a day, so we know that you can get out there and spread the word, pushing both of these to their goal before this project closes.

Any questions?

As always, we're here to do all we can to help you better understand the project. If you have any questions at all, please post, and our crew will respond as best we can.

Thanks!

@Aaron Yeah but you start shaving off a little bit here and a little bit there and now we have a smaller product because you need to put it in sleeves. You do know it’s a whole pad of sheets and meant to be disposable yes? Ware out one sheet, rip it off and use another one. What did you do in the old days before sleeves when we used to write on our character sheets with pencil and had to erase stuff to change it?

davidsg - "Are these character sheets a different item from the "character and reference sheets" which made up the $22,000 stretch goal?"

Yes. The pad of Melee character sheets is an addition to the project over and above the $22,000 stretch goal.

Heh... After seeing the char-sheet pack, I'm picturing a TFT take on a DCC 0-Level adventure. Wonder how a bunch of TFT 0-Level equivalents would look in game. :)

Again, like the megahexes, a fantastic and clever "value add" for this specific game, the kind of thing we couldn't easily do on our own. Well done, SJG, you're knocking it out of the park with this campaign!

@Apocalype Nerd: I know right? A 1/32nd of an inch here, a 1/16th there, where does it end!!!! :D
      Cheers

And here come the sleevers. It's not even a card game and they want things altered so they can sleeve everything.

How about a whole sheet of them? -SJ

@David Akers - "I assume there will be a character sheet in the PDF that can be printed?"

The very first stretch goal included a booklet of character and other sheets to the Legacy Edition box. That booklet will be a part of the PDF package.

@Phil: if you give them a little measure, you may discover the mtg cards are just a snick under those dimensions. At least that's been my experience. It might be worthwhile to take a couple of the prototype sheets and try slipping them in standard card sleeves, and see if the prototype sheets "buckle" from being too tight of a fit.

@Aaron E. Steele - "Can these character sheets be made to fit standard sized card sleeves? I think the dimensions of standard card sleeves are just a little under 2.5 x 3.5."

      MTG cards are 2.5" x 3.5" . . . coincidence?

    14. Aaron E. Steele on

Can these character sheets be made to fit standard sized card sleeves? I think the dimensions of standard card sleeves are just a little under 2.5 x 3.5. Then I can put my character sheet in a sleeve and check off damage using a dry erase marker.

What about advanced melee and wizard characters? Will there be a 3.5 x 5 character sheet designed for them?
