Reporting in on the results of a Repairachnids run. The party needed to close up a small cave filled with portals - or unpleasant things might come slithering out. They returned to the site and found dead slimes everywhere and a bronze spider digging away at the mostly-removed dirt wall they had erected. It would not fight, unless attacked, and called for backup when challenged. They got little done - went through a portal to rescue some bling - but seemed to enjoy the evening. I know I did! Many thanks.
The bronze spiders and such remind me of Michael Moorcock's Castle Brass from the Jewel in the Skull series..
